Hatebreed are a  band from Bridgeport and New Haven, Connecticut. The band was founded in November 1994 by Jamey Jasta, Dave Russo, Larry Dwyer, and Chris Beattie. Hatebreed's sound can be classified as metallic hardcore, they are influenced by death and groove metal and their sound has heavily influenced many modern metalcore, hardcore and crossover bands. They began by recording a three song demo and selling it to locals. Those three songs would eventually be released on a split seven inch with New York's Neglect in 1995. They followed that up with the highly acclaimed EP Under the Knife in 1996, and the following year released Satisfaction is the Death of Desire on Victory Records, then the home of some of the biggest bands in metalcore. Satisfaction sold more copies than any other debut in the history of the record company. A constant touring schedule pushed them beyond the boundaries of the hardcore punk scene, and tours with national metal bands such as Slayer, Deftones, Entombed and Napalm Death brought them to the attention of many non-hardcore/metalcore fans. These influences were apparent on the band's next two releases, 2002's Perseverance, and especially 2003's The Rise of Brutality. After the release of The Rise of Brutality, the band took part in the 2004 Unholy Alliance tour in Europe with Slayer, Slipknot and Mastodon. In June, 2006, Hatebreed went on an extensive European tour which included a performance at the Download Festival in Donnington, UK. Immediately following this European tour, they played the main stage at Ozzfest 2006 alongside DragonForce, Lacuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, and co-headliners System of a Down. The band's next album, Supremacy, was released in August, 2006, their first through Roadrunner Records, featuring new guitarist Frank Novinec (who had previously spent time playing with Ringworm, Terror, and Integrity). Jasta described it as an "all-out onslaught of completely adrenaline-charged, in-your-face brutality". Hatebreed still maintains tight connections to the hardcore community, evidenced by the lineup for the their 10 year anniversary show at Toad's Place on November 25 and November 26, 2005 in New Haven: Neglect, One 4 One, Irate, and reunions by All Out War and Skarhead. On September 13, 2006, former guitarist Lou "Boulder" Richards committed suicide at the age of 35. Richards played on 1997's Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire and 2002's Perseverance before leaving the band later that year. Jasta issued the following statement regarding Richards' passing: “ As many of you may have heard, and we were sorry to learn, our former guitar player Lou "Boulder" Richards passed away yesterday. It is very unfortunate that he could not see any other way to conquer his demons. We hope he has finally found some peace. Our hearts go out to Vera and his family and friends. ” Hatebreed headlined the second stage on the 2007 Ozzfest tour. Jamey Jasta confirmed that Hatebreed is working on a new album in an interview shown during the Headbanger's Ball. Hatebreed also released a concert DVD titled "Live Dominance" on September 2, 2008, The next Hatebreed album "For the Lions" was an cover album. Artists covered will include Metallica, D.R.I., Crowbar, and the Cro-Mags. Hatebreed appeared at Wacken Open Air festival in 2008 alongside Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, and Avantasia. In April 2008, Hatebreed signed a worldwide deal with Koch Records for the release of their live DVD, a live album, and a cover album entitled "For The Lions" releasing May 5. February 9, 2009 Guitarist Sean Martin quit the band. Jamey Jasta said the following, "I speak on behalf of all of us and we support Sean's decision to leave and want him to be happy and successful at everything he does. There are no bad feelings at all and you'll probably see him hanging on stage at some of our local shows. We're family and he will be missed but Hatebreed will forge on." Sean Martin added, "After 10 years, I've decided to leave Hatebreed. This in no way reflects my personal relationship with Jamey, Chris, Matt and Frank; they're four of my closest friends and I'll always love them with all my heart. I want to thank all of the fans as well as the guys in the band and crew, past and present, for giving me some of the best times of my life."

Guitarist Caysen Russo and vocalist Craig Betit only appear on the band's first studio album, they were both replaced, respectively, with Chris Storey and Hernan "Eddie" Hermida by the time of their second release. Matt Kuykendall has commented on the origin of the band's name, how he came up with it: "Sitting in my room in Berkeley, California, reading news websites and thinking about the fucked up shit going on in the world and my own life at the time. The name itself is a simple truism, but it's something that we all too easily forget." Current members Eddie − Vocals Francesco − Lead guitar ( Former Lead for Hiss of Atrocities ) Ben − Rhythm guitar Mike − Bass guitar Adam − Drums, Percussion ( Former drummer of Sea of Treachery ) Bray − Touring Bass guitar All Shall Perish have completed several successful tours across America in the past year, sharing the stage with a variety of fellow deathcore groups, including acts such as Suicide Silence, Through the Eyes of the Dead, The Red Chord, The Acacia Strain, Misery Index, Job for a Cowboy, Antagony, among many others. Antibalas (pronounced /ɑntiˈbɑlɑs/[dubious – discuss], or approximately "ahn-tee-BAH-las", from the Spanish for "bulletproof") is a Bushwick, Brooklyn based afrobeat band that is modeled after Fela Kuti's Africa 70 band and Eddie Palmieri's Harlem River Drive Orchestra. Although their music is primarily afrobeat, it incorporates elements of jazz, funk, dub, improvised music, and traditional drumming from Cuba and West Africa. Founded 1998 by Martín Perna as "Conjunto Antibalas," the group played its inaugural concert in May 26, 1998 at St. Nicks Pub in Harlem at a night organized by artist Xaviera Simmons. Over the course of the next few months, the group solidified with a core of eleven band members and began to develop a repertoire of original songs. Guitarist and producer/engineer Gabriel Roth wrote several of the earlier tunes and oversaw recording and production of the first three records. Over the next few years, the band's presence grew; by summer 2000 Antibalas had released their first album "Liberation Afrobeat Vol. 1" and had toured twice in England, all the while continuing to play at venues throughout New York City. Recording with the group in the early day was Cameroonian drummer Jojo Kuo who can be heard on the studio recordings of "Uprising" and "Machete." By early 2002, the horn-driven outfit had released their second album, "Talkatif," and were continuing to tour throughout the United States. In summer 2004, their third studio album, "Who is This America?" was released. Antibalas' most recent album, "Security", was produced by John McEntire and released on the ANTI- label in 2007.

On weekends, Star recounts using a "fake ID to attend Hollywood clubs dressed in mini dresses and nine inch high heels where celebrities would contract him for make-up work at their homes", or "hiring [Star] as a model." He reports that his weekend partying at clubs and the make-up advice he gave was the foundation to his modeling career. Using the nickname of "cunt" while using "cyanide-laced wit" in his online rants to attract attention, Star had built up a fan base on several websites but convinced many to join him on MySpace, giving his MySpace profile a large number of "friends" from the beginning.[7] His MySpace friend base has since grown to over 632,000 as of October 2007 with each new photo shoot getting over 50,000 comments when posted, and by November 2006, he was recognized as MySpace's most connected profile personality. Star has also gained fame as one of the most popular unsigned artists with the daily rankings placing him in the top tier on MySpace. On March 28, 2007 at Project Runway's Jeffrey Sebelia fashion show Star was a front row "celebutante" where he revealed details of Buzznet.com’s “Queen Needs a Princess Contest” which had "a day of femme-licious fun with Star" as the grand prize. The social-networking, music-news site specializes in new-media (integrated photoblog and videoblog capabilities) which Star has capitalized on to dovetail his modeling and music interests. Stars' social trendsetting participation at Buzznet and his success at growing online fan-base was noted in Buzznet's six million financing in May 2007. Star regularly uploads video-blog segments including music reviews, event reports as well as posting news about his upcoming music release. Star's music career as an electronica and hip-hop vocalist began when he befriended Peaches' drummer who encouraged him to make music. His first two tracks Straight Boys and We Want Cunt, (named in tribute to his former screen name Cunt: Queen of the Beautifuls) were co-written with Hole and one time Mötley Crüe drummer, Samantha Maloney and singer Jessicka from Scarling.[8] Star asked MySpace co-founder Tom to convert his MySpace profile into a music page so he could showcase his music. On November 1, 2006 Star performed on the same bill as Los Angeles's Dirty Sanchez at the LA bar Key Club’s post-Halloween show. Star has toured with electro musician Peaches. On June 24, 2007, Jeffree was banned from Toronto's Gay Pride Parade for punching a female fan in the face after spectators standing near her threw bottles onstage. Also featured in Aiden's video 'One Love' in 2007. Main article: Plastic Surgery Slumber Party EP On March 13, 2007, Star released his first EP, Plastic Surgery Slumber Party. Immediately, it debuted March 20, 2007 at No. 1 on iTunes’s dance charts and "has consistently topped the iTunes dance charts at #1, hovering high above household names such as Justin Timberlake and Cascada." Separately Star's MySpace page has an impressive 25 million listens off Plastic Surgery Slumber Party. Two songs recorded by Star that were not released on Plastic Surgery Slumber Party are "Louis Vuitton" and "Don't Cha (Sex Change Remix)", the latter of which featured Lady Pop Quiz and Diamond Girl. Star also recorded a song with Hollywood Undead in 2005 for their 7 Song Sampler, titled "Turn off the Lights". A remix of "Plastic Surgery Slumber Party" is featured on his MySpace and may be on the upcoming CD as a bonus. Star announced in late 2007 that recording is underway for an album titled Beauty Killer. The first single, "Heart Surgery Isn't That Bad...“has already been released. Other confirmed tracks include "Mascara + Mistakes = Murder", "Cupcakes Taste like Violence" and "Somebody's Watching Me". During the summer of 2007, Star was advertised as a part of the True Colors Tour 2007, which traveled through 15 cities in the United States and Canada. The tour, sponsored by the LGBT Logo channel, began on June 8, 2007 to coincide with Pride month. Profits from the tour benefited the Human Rights Campaign as well as PFLAG and The Matthew Shepard Foundation. Though he was advertised as a special guest to perform on several West Coast dates, Star did not appear. Star's Plastic Surgery Slumber Party single will appear on the August 7, 2007 Tommy Boy release of Cyndi Lauper's True Colors tour compilation. Featuring ten tracks from ten of the artists the compilation will benefit the Human Rights Campaign, an organization that fights for civil rights for LGBT people. Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato's World of Wonders Productions is developing a reality show featuring Star and promise of "glamour and sexual tension."[4] World of Wonders, who are also developing shows such as Allison Margolin: The Dopest Attorney in Town, about an LA lawyer who specializes in medical-marijuana cases, and Beauty School Dropout featuring actor Jim J. Bullock's "second career as the would-be owner of a hair salon." Star's T-shirts & Hoodies were ranked #1 on Hottopic.com. The company later decided to do an interview on Star.

Lil Scrappy (born Darryl Kevin Richardson II on January 20, 1984 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American rapper signed to BME Recordings. He was discovered by producer and performer Lil' Jon while performing at a bar, when a fight broke out during his set in his hometown of Atlanta. Along with labelmates Trillville, Lil' Scrappy was one of the first signings to Lil' Jon's BME Recordings. Lil Scrappy built a strong reputation and eager following throughout the southeast through mixtapes and the street anthem of 2003 "Head Bussa." During this time, Lil' Jon inked a deal to bring his BME Recordings to Warner Bros. Records as a joint venture partnership. With Lil' Jon's signature production, "Head Bussa" made a strong statement within the radio community, reaching #73 on the Billboard R & B and hip hop chart. Lil Scrappy has released a dual EP with labelmates Trillville entitled The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Lil' Scrappy and Trillville in February 2004. The album featured production by Lil' Jon. Lil' Scrappy and Trillville had ten tracks each appear on this album. Lil Scrappy's second single and most commercially successful single to date, "No Problem," reached the top 30 of the Billboard 100 and was top 10 on the R & B and rap charts. Thanks to the success of "No Problem" and Trillville's hits "Some Cut" and "Neva Eva," the joint album reached #3 on the r&b chart and #12 on the Billboard 200 in 2004. Lil Jon invited Lil' Scrappy to participate on the track "What U Gonna Do" appearing on Lil' Jon's 2004 album Crunk Juice. "What U Gonna Do" was released as a single reaching #20 in the US in late December 2004 and reaching #30 in the UK in February 2005. Lil Scrappy is currently working on an album "Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live" which will be released in 2006 on BME Recordings/Reprise Records. He is recording several tracks on a studio tour bus during the Anger Management tour, of which he is a featured guest performer. Rumors of Lil Scrappy working with G-Unit are true, but those of him leaving BME are false. Thus he has appeared on many DJ Whoo Kid mixtapes such as "The Wire" in 2005 on a track called Big Scooby and Lil' Scrappy with Snoop Dogg and on "G-Unit Radio pt.15"'s G-Unit Click (Stack That Paper) the same year. Lil Scrappy's "Bred 2 die born 2 live " also has appearances from Young Joc, Young Dro, Three 6 Mafia, Lloyd Banks, Young Buc, and 50 cent from G-Unit amongst others.

Chiodos is an American post-hardcore band from Davison, Michigan, formed in 2001. Originally known as "The Chiodos Bros." the band's name was a tribute to filmmakers Stephen, Charles, and Edward Chiodo, responsible for the movie Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Their second full length album, Bone Palace Ballet, was released in North America on September 4, 2007 and debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 on Top Independent Albums. Warner Bros. Records released Bone Palace Ballet on January 26, 2009, as part of a new distribution deal in the UK. Chiodos was formed at the Flint Local 432, a small venue in downtown Flint, Michigan and Olde Jamestowne Hall in Saginaw, Michigan. The band is known for their on-stage performances which include controlled, high-pitched vocals from former lead singer, Craig Owens. Craig Owens has cited lead singer of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, etc. fame, Mike Patton as one of his greatest influences saying, "I only wish I could be as good as him." Their debut album, All's Well That Ends Well (Equal Vision Records) was released on July 26, 2005. It reached #3 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and #164 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. While their sophomore album, Bone Palace Ballet reached the number 5 spot on the Billboard 200. The band's albums and live performances have garnered praise from press outlets. Chiodos headlined some shows on their own before joining Alternative Press's 2006 "Invisible Sideshow" tour, headlined by Armor for Sleep. Following that tour, they supported Matchbook Romance on the Sub City "Take Action" tour in Spring 2006. That summer, they toured with Fear Before the March of Flames, as well as appearing on the Warped Tour.In fall 2006, Chiodos appeared on Atreyu's World Championship Tour, alongside From First to Last and Every Time I Die, as well as 3 and 36 Crazyfists. Chiodos has had several scuffs with those in the music industry, most notably Steven Smith of Steven's Untitled Rock Show, Andy Williams of Every Time I Die, and HORSE The Band. In 2005, Chiodos independently made a video for the song "All Nereids Beware." The video consists of the band playing the rare pre-All's Well That Ends Well version of the song in a parking lot. In 2006, Chiodos made videos for "One Day Women Will All Become Monsters" and "Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on the Creek". The "Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on the Creek" video was included on the 2006 re-issue of All's Well That Ends Well, which added a DVD and three acoustic tracks to the 2005 release. A video for "Lexington (Joey Pea-Pot With A Monkey Face)" was made which premiered world wide on April 2, 2008 on the social network MySpace. This was the first single of their sophomore album, "Bone Palace Ballet". Chiodos' drummer, Derrick Frost has stated in an interview that the band was disappointed in the final result of the music video, saying "Well, usually there are different people who throw out ideas and we go through them and add in our own suggestions but that video definitely didn’t turn out like we wanted it to turn out, like at all. We’re pretty disappointed with it. We never get a video where we’re all like “This is amazing!” And that’s what every band wants, to have an amazing video because that can push your career and your band so far. And we haven’t gotten that yet so it’s kind of frustrating. It’s just like so much money that we spent on this for no reason. No one’s going to play it; it’s not getting played at all." On September 16, 2008, Chiodos teamed up with acclaimed director Darren Doane and The Crofoot Ballroom to shoot a video for "The Undertaker's Thirst For Revenge Is Unquenchable (The Final Battle)" in downtown Pontiac, MI. The video was released on December 20, 2008. on September 24, 2010, it was announced that Craig Owens was no longer the singer of Chiodos. On February 8, 2010, Brandon Bolmer (Yesterdays Rising) was confirmed as the new lead singer for Chiodos.

Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, better known by his stage name RZA (pronounced /ˈrɪzə/; born July 5, 1969), is an American Grammy winning music producer, author, rapper, and occasional actor, director, and screenwriter. A prominent figure in hip hop music, he is the de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan. He has produced almost all of Wu-Tang Clan's albums as well as many Wu-Tang solo and affiliate projects. He subsequently gained attention for his work scoring and acting in films. He has also released solo albums under the alter-ego Bobby Digital. In addition to the Wu-Tang Clan and his solo releases, RZA was also a founding member of the rap group Gravediggaz where he used the name The Rzarector. He has made cameos in several movies including Coffee and Cigarettes, American Gangster, Gospel Hill, Life Is Hot in Cracktown, Ghost Dog, Funny People, Repo Men. About.com named him 3rd on their list of best hip hop producers of all time Born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, RZA spent time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a child, where his father had a convenience store in the Hill District.[1] A young RZA also spent many years living in North Carolina with his uncle. RZA began his hip hop career in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a member of the trio Force of the Imperial Master (which subsequently became known as the All in Together Now Crew after they had a successful underground single of that name). The group consisted of future Wu-Tang members and his cousins GZA (then known as the Genius) and Ol' Dirty Bastard (then known as Ason Unique, the Specialist, and the Professor). Once this local band dissolved, both he and the GZA attempted to kick start solo careers. With the help of GZA's friend (then owner of Jamaica Records) they both secured single deals with album options at successful labels, GZA going to Cold Chillin and RZA to Tommy Boy. GZA ultimately released the Words from the Genius album, but RZA's stint at Tommy Boy ended with only the EP Ooh I Love You Rakeem to show for it when he went to jail soon after its release. GZA's album flopped, and the two cousins became determined to conquer the hip hop industry on their own terms. Throughout most of his youth he enjoyed watching various kung-fu movies and purchasing countless albums which he would later sample in most of his music

Unwritten Law

Southern California’s UNWRITTEN LAW has become synonymous with the sounds of summer by releasing some of the most celebrated rock records of recent memory, touring the world to play for sold out crowds, holding the #1 slot on the Billboard Modern Rock charts and becoming a staple of the summer’s biggest festival, Vans Warped Tour. Not only have they become rock idols but also they have overcome pitfalls that would end the careers of most bands in order to remain relevant as others from the scene fade away. Now UNWRITTEN LAW are set to return with SWAN, their sixth studio album due out March 29 on Breaksilence Recordings/Suburban Noize Records.

Marred by drugs, alcohol and personal struggles, UNWRITTEN LAW channeled their problems into writing and have crafted one of the most personal rock records of their career. “There was a lot of interpersonal turmoil going on with the band itself and in our personal lives when we were making this album,” recalls Unwritten Law guitarist Steve Morris. One such battle came in the form of front man Scott Russo losing his house and possessions in a terrible fire last year; however the band battled back in the face of adversity to make Swan. Anthemic songs such as lead single “Starships and Apocalypse” and “Dark Dayz” make this record the catchiest UNWRITTEN LAW record yet.

"It took a long time to write this record because we were creating something real in a time when fake, bullshit, phony music rules the airwaves," commented Russo. "It seems like artists have forgotten the art of creating an album. Everyone writes one good song and then fills the rest of the album with B-Sides. We spent six months just writing the music and then I spent another eight months writing lyrics. For this album we had to make sure that every song was a great song and there was zero filler.”

UNWRITTEN LAW also teamed up with a few names of note on Swan. “Chicken Scratch” features guest vocals by the legendary rapper Del The Funky Homosapien, a collaboration that was hooked up by Danny Way (legendary skateboarder and co-founder of DC Shoes and Plan B Skateboards). Cisco Adler also lends a hand with writing and production on “Dark Dayz,” “Nevermind,” “Last Chance” and “Swan Song”. What results is a blend of amazing musicianship and a new found inspiration of lyrics.. From the blazing, edgy “Starships and Apocalypse” to the inspired, Beatles- esque “Let You Go” and the obviously hip-hop tinged “Chicken (Ready to Go)”, Swan shows incredible growth and proves that innovative music still exists in a time of carbon copies and fading trends.

The band has continued to make awe-inspiring music and is now excited to hit the road in support of the record and show off the incredible new album to audiences around the world. UNWRITTEN LAW has already begun to plot numerous routes across the globe. Then, this summer the band will return to the stage where they began to make a name for themselves so long ago: Vans Warped Tour.

Looking back on the past few years, UNWRITTEN LAW can’t help but smile. “We had taken ourselves and the music from something ugly that no one wanted to be a part of and turned it into something everyone loved and was proud of," adds Morris. They know that they have risen above the struggles that have stood in their way and are ready to make a splash in 2011 with Swan.

The line-up has gone through several changes since the band's conception and currently consists of Matt Stewart on trumpet, Mike Brown on alto and baritone saxophone, Jim Conti on alto and tenor saxophone, Tomas Kalnoky on guitar and lead vocals, Pete McCullaugh on bass guitar, Nadav Nirenberg on trombone, and Chris Thatcher on drums. Though the band have enjoyed no mainstream commercial success, they have received acclaim in alternative music circles, and their debut album is currently in Interpunk.com's top 100 items, over 2 years after its release. In addition, they regularly sell out their live shows, and their first few shows at Rutgers and The Stone Pony not only sold out, but had people coming from as far as Minnesota and Canada. Their second album, a reworking of Catch 22's Keasbey Nights was released on March 7, 2006. Streetlight Manifesto's third album, entitled Somewhere In The Between came out on November 13, 2007. Rumors also have it that the band is currently working on a series of 8 albums entitled "The 99 Songs of Revolution" in co-operation with Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, a side-project of singer Tomas Kalnoky slated for release in early 2009. On November 17, 2009, the band's website announced that "99 Songs Of Revolution: Volume One" has been ready for release for quite some time but "some record labels are just plain horrendous." They are also in the process of arranging a tour for 2010 but will spend some time in the studio until they have "a few records to release." The first album of 99 Songs of Revolution was released on March 16, 2010. On this CD, the band covered songs by artists such as The Postal ServiceRadiohead, and NOFX.

2012, Summer. Seattle, Washington, something mucho significant was built by 5 dudes’ touch. It is called Infinity Overhead. When the air filled with this piece, heat, noise and color to be transformed into stream and traveled through the air with the time shift. Pull and push, depth versus altitude. This romance like having a high tech air-in choccolata from east village. Once you put the cioccolato inside the mousse, something seeps out all around and it smoothly embraces everything they meet. During this process, all the elements start to kick in, sweetness, bitterness, sourness, and saltiness. Flavor dominates all over the mousse. It clings around and soaks in quietly, then fragrance starts to evaporate through tiny sky inside the dark, merge back into the air. Signals flow to the brain and it delivers the joy to the body through the tide. All commotion appears on the movement makes the body sweats and shivers. After a while all these processes change its shapes and falls into mind, realizes it taste like soil in the wildness or unseen experience turns into little piece of unknown memory we might see tomorrow.
Elements to become alive, things might have to go through some process, mashed, squeezed, roasted, fermented, hydrated, blended, and purified. When the time starts to lose its sense, things will slip out from nowhere or somewhere and start to shape. It’s obvious but invisible, like instinctually tracing the path of light waves and particles. It looks like Minus the Bears’ fifth window made the light change into the color eternally.

Against Me! is a  band originally from Naples, Florida, and later relocated to Gainesville, Florida. They are known for their heavily -influenced sound and energetic live shows (Spin named them one of the 25 greatest live bands in 2006). Their first full-length album, released on No Idea Records in 2002, was the highly-acclaimedReinventing Axl Rose. In December 2005, they signed to Sire Records, and released their major label debut,New Wave, on July 10, 2007. June 4, 2010 saw the release of their fifth studio album, White Crosses.Laura Jane Grace (formerly known as Tom Gabel) started Against Me! in 1997 as a solo act at the age of 17. She would only occasionally perform with support from drummers and/or bassists. This period in the band was marked by playing guerrilla shows in a college apartment complex laundromat, emphasizing the D.I.Y. sentiments of their work. Gabel self-released one demo tape, officially entitled Against Me!, but more commonly known as Tom's Demo. While copies of the cassette itself are extremely rare, internet file-sharing programs have helped to circulate the songs amongst fans. Another demo cassette was released the following year on Misanthrope Records, with a slightly more complete band, titled Vivida Vis. Only five hundred copies of this album were made, but file-sharing once again popularized it. Perhaps the most well-known song on the record, "Shit Stroll" is still routinely requested by the audience at Against Me! shows. The band rarely, if ever, obliges these requests. In 2001, Against Me! celebrated their first widely successful release in Crime as Forgiven By. The four-song 7" and six-song CD-EP was joint-released on Plan It X Records and Sabot Productions. The 7" came first; the CD that followed included two bonus tracks:Impact, which remains a staple of live shows, and Burn. After Crime, a four-song acoustic 7" was released. While technically untitled, the album is most commonly referred to as The Acoustic EP. It has since been re-released as a CD-EP with two extra songs. It contains no electric guitar or drums; only Gabel's acoustic guitar and bass by Dustin Fridkin. It is widely considered one of the band's definitive releases. Shortly after the release of the EP, Against Me!'s lineup shifted when Kevin Mahon officially left the band. Warren Oakes took Mahon's place, and James Bowman joined as a second guitarist. Released in 2002,Reinventing Axl Rose was the band's first full-length album. It featured five new tracks (the other six were re-recorded from their original appearances on Crime and The Acoustic EP). This album was considered a shift because of the addition of electric guitars, as well as the fact that it was their first release a full band. The title track and Baby, I'm an Anarchist! earned significant notoriety in punk rock circles and began to spread the band to a larger fan base. Later in 2002, a three-song EP entitled The Disco Before the Breakdown was released. The title track is a marked departure from the earlier sound, incorporating friends and musicians from their label, No Idea Records, as a horn section for the first time. Songs such as Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35% showed the band's greatest transition toward a more mainstream rock sound. Shortly before recording Disco, Against Me!'s lineup changed once again. Fridkin left the band, and was replaced on bass guitar by Andrew Seward. This lineup of Gabel, Oakes, Bowman, and Seward has remained constant since. Interestingly, the common set-up of the band at live shows features Gabel (the chief vocalist) stage right, while Seward takes center stage. Their second full length album, As The Eternal Cowboy, was released on popular punk label Fat Wreck Chords. Though many fans welcomed the opportunity of increased exposure for the band, some older fans and those with anarchist sensibilities themselves were less pleased. Some even considered the band sell-outs, claiming that the band had gone against ideals formerly expressed in their music, such as a DIY ethics and a anti-capitalist stance. Ironically, Gabel describes the album as sounding "more punk." This album also marked the release of their first single,Sink, Florida, Sink. The divisive effect this record had on their fan base became the topic of their next release, a DVD called We're Never Going Home, a title derived from the song Slurring the Rythyms. The band's second Fat release, Searching For A Former Clarity, was released on September 6, 2005. It broke them into the mainstream, debuting at #114 on the Billboard charts. The band released a music video for the album's first single, Don't Lose Touch, originally specifically for MySpace. The band performed the song on an episode of Late Night With Conan O'Brien, which aired on September 30, 2005. On December 21, 2005, it was announced that the band had signed a deal with Sire Records. This decision alienated some of Against Me!'s longtime fans, who felt that the band finally signing to a major label betrayed their anarchistic ethics and longtime beliefs; however the majority of fans remain supportive of the band's decision. Against Me! has stated that a large factor in the decision to switch to Sire was the opportunity to work with Butch Vig, producer for Nirvana's Nevermind. Against Me! released their first live album (and final Fat release), titled Americans Abroad!!! Against Me!!! Live In London!!!, on August 22, 2006. The album was recorded at the Mean Fiddler in London, England. It features a live version of a previously unreleased song namedAmericans Abroad (the studio version was later recorded for New Wave). The album was released solely to fill a contractual obligation to Fat Wreck Chords. On December 29, 2006, Against Me! announced their debut album on Sire, titled New Wave. The album contains ten songs, stretching just over 30 minutes, and was released on July 10, 2007. It debuted at #57 on the Billboard 200 the week of its release. Spin named it the best album of 2007 in their annual top 40 list. It is the first Against Me! album that does not feature at least one acoustic song. Singles include White People For Peace and Thrash Unreal. The latter song reached #11 on the U.S. Modern Rock Chart, becoming the band's first chart single. The album also features Tegan Quin (Tegan and Sara) on the song Borne On The FM Waves Of The Heart. On June 8, 2009, drummer Warren Oakes announced that he would be leaving Against Me! after eight years with the band. His statement indicated the split was amicable, as he left the band to focus his efforts on his new Mexican restaurant, Boca Fiesta. He was replaced by Hot Water Music drummer George Rebelo. On July 7, 2009, Fat Wreck Chords released The Original Cowboy, an album consisting of unreleased demos recorded prior to the As the Eternal Cowboy session. The demos were recorded by Rob McGregor in Gainesville on July 15, 2003. On June 7, 2010, Against Me! released their second record with Sire, White Crosses. Fan reception has been mixed. Also in 2010, George Rebelo was replaced as drummer by Jay Weinberg, initially on a temporary basis. The appointment has since become permanent. In May 2012 Gabel publicly came out as transgender, having dealt with gender dysphoria since childhood. Gabel plans to transition to living as a woman by taking hormones, undergoing electrolysis treatments, and eventually taking the name Laura Jane Grace.

Fake Problems

Evolution is a naturally occurring force in life, however there’s nothing predictable about Fake Problems sonic journey from underground heroes to indie rock trailblazers. Since forming in Naples, Florida in 2005 the group—which includes vocalist/guitarist Chris Farren, bassist Derek Perry, drummer Sean Stevenson, guitarist Brian Blount, and former guitarist Casey Lee—have released two critically acclaimed full-lengths, won over countless fans all over the world and toured and played shows with everyone from The Hold Steady to Frank Turner. However with their sophomore release on Side One Dummy Records, Real Ghosts Caught on Tape, Fake Problems have exceeded even their own lofty expectations by creating a cerebral masterpiece that sees the band fully reconciling all of their seemingly disparate influences and proving it’s finally their time to step into the spotlight. In 2012 Casey Leeleft the band. He was replaced by Brian Blount of Vega Under Fire. Recorded with Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Lucero) in California, the album sees the band stripping down the expansive orchestration of 2009’s It’s Great To Be Alive and discovering what magic lurks at the core of Fake Problems’ collective psyche. “We wanted the album to be a little more subtle and let it speak for itself,” Farren explains when asked how found the act found the inspiration to craft a unique brand of music that manages to incorporate elements of infectious indie rock & roll and ‘60s girl groups—the latter of which is aided by crooning vocals courtesy of Fake Problems’ longtime friends/fans Arrested Development’s Mae Whiteman and Alia Shawkat. Farren also acknowledges that Hutt helped the band realize their Phil Spector-esque wall of sound production style they had in their heads, which allowed them to transcend the DIY punk scene they grew up in without abandoning their roots. “In the past we would jam so many ideas into one song and it would just be too much,” Farren admits. “Ted helped us realize that while that approach is very creative, it’s wasn’t the best way to go about writing this record” he continues. “This album was a good exercise in restraint and filtering the ideas so we could make every good idea really count. “ From soul-inspired indie-rock experiments like “5678” and chilling compositions like “Ghost To Coast” to sparkling beach punk-inspired gems like “Complaint Dept,” Real Ghosts Caught On Tape effectively shows how Fake Problems have organically developed into one of rock’s most exciting acts and will undeniably see them attracting a whole new base of music fans who are looking for something in what they listen to that can’t be easily described or marketed. “The song ‘Complaint Dept’ was such a different thing for us to do because all of the guitar parts are so intricate and noodly,” Farren says when asked about some of his favorite moments on the album. “It was just so fun to be able to do that with our band because it’s surprising for a Fake Problems song, but it works for us.” Real Ghosts Caught On Tape also sees Farren expanding his lyrical palette—and while he’s become well known for his theological imagery, this album sees Farren exploring himself more as opposed to any external deities. “There’s a theme in the lyrics of uncertainty,” he explains. “There’s an emphasis on fear, trying to persevere, not giving up hope and doing the best you can to stay positive,” he continues. “It’s more of a record about being yourself and living your own life than it is about any other person, concept or idea,” he summarizes. Although lines like “When I reach the pearly gates of hell, I’ll send those dimes back up the wishing well with a note tied to each that reads ‘Nobody’s listening.’” (from “Complaint Dept.”) still display Farren’s gift for wordplay and metaphor, “it’s more of a conversation than a sermon.” That said, Real Ghosts Caught On Tape isn’t going to make Fake Problems an easy act to categorize—but that’s something that they wouldn’t change for the world. “Creatively we always molded our band from the beginning so that we’d be able to do anything and tour with anyone from Against Me! to William Elliott Whitmore to even the Dillinger Escape Plan,” Farren explains. “I think it’s kind of hard to slap our name on a sticker and recommend us if you like another band, but I think in the long term it’s definitely a blessing that we’re not pinpointed into one thing,” he continues. “We really don’t ever want to be that type of band.” “Sometimes I dream of getting in my car and driving straight through the night,” vocalist Chris Farren croons on the intricately arranged ballad “Ghost To Coast.” Real Ghosts Caught On Tape is the perfect soundtrack to that journey from darkness to light, showcasing a band who have grown to new artistic heights lying on the other side of the horizon. Fake Problems is an American rock band from Naples, Florida. They released their first album, How Far Our Bodies Go, on Sabot Productions on April 27, 2007. Their second record, It's Great to Be Alive, was released through Side One Dummy Records on February 17, 2009. Growing up is never easy, but when you’re in a band it often seems impossible. Make the same record twice and you’re chastised for being repetitive, but if you make too large of a sonic shift your fan base will desert you. Luckily Naples, Florida’s Fake Problems have never had to deal with this dilemma because with each release they’ve not only organically reinvented their sound, they’ve also successfully redefined who they are as musicians and human beings in the process. The culmination of this is the band’s SideOneDummy debut It’s Great To Be Alive, which shows Fake Problems’ unique brand of indie rock finally shaking off the insecurity and soul-searching of adolescence and sees the band embracing a sense of perspective that can only be gained by spending countless months on the road touring, laughing and writing music they believe in. In order to capture their creative vision for It’s Great To Be Alive the band packed up their van and headed to the cornfields of Omaha, Nebraska, where they spent two weeks tracking the album at ARC Studios with producer A.J. Mogis (Cursive, Rilo Kiley, The Faint). Although this might seem like an unconventional choice for a band who have toured with decidedly more aggressive peers such as Against Me! and the Riverboat Gamblers, Fake Problems were so prepared going into the studio they didn’t have to worry about getting bogged down with technicalities. “We knew exactly what order we wanted the record to be in and what auxiliary instruments we wanted to use on the songs,” Farren explains adding that Perry arranged the strings, Look Mexico’s Matt Agrella arranged the horns—and at one point the band even enlisted the help of a seven-piece horn section comprised of University of Nebraska students and teachers. The result is an album that combines the band’s punk rock roots with elements of folk and indie rock to create a unique amalgam of music that’s as distinctive as Farren’s soulful tenor. “I’m definitely influenced by my musical surroundings, so there was never any decision to make ‘this’ or ‘that’ kind of song,” the band’s frontman explains, listing everyone from alt-country crooners like Ryan Adams to troubadours like Bob Dylan and rock revivalists such as the Hold Steady as influences this time around. “We write songs that we would want to hear from other artists,” he elaborates. “We make music that we want to listen to, so it just wouldn’t make sense to keep doing the same thing over and over again. From the sinister shuffle of “You’re A Serpent, You’re a She-Snake” to orchestral ballads like “Tabernacle Song” and intricately layered anthems like “There Are Times,” It’s Great To Be Alive is less of a traditional album and more of a sonic journey that refuses to be limited by genre constraints.

Precisely the philosophy of five guys from Tallahassee, FL. Derek, Jeremy, Alex, Brooks and Jake, thinking outside the bun, decided to all quit their jobs and perform in a parade. Mayday Parade was born in 2005 when two popular Tallahassee bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment, decided to merge and form one group. Both bands had been friends for a long time but they each seemed to have different kind of holdups. They pooled their resources, booted out the undedicated members and decided to take the good from each band and move forward. Armed with a dynamic lead singer Derek Sanders of Defining Moment, Mayday Parade explodes with energy and personality. Fans of both bands came together in support of the Parade and it wasn't long until thousands of other new fans got into the action. Mayday Parade knew they'd have to start at the grassroots level and began to work themselves to the top. Through their catchy tunes and fun attitude, they have hooked fans at their shows and online with an interactive MySpace selling 10,000 EPs without label support. With the work hard, play hard, do whatever it takes to spread your music philosophy that most young bands need to have these days, the band took to the road and started winning over kids not just in Florida, but across the country. Mayday Parade was consistently in the top 30 unsigned artists on MySpace. They've consolidated over 50,000 friends and growing and have totaled over 2.4 Million plays. With labels hot on their tail, Mayday Parade decided that Fearless Records was the one for them and signed at the end of the summer 2006. They then released their first professional record, A Lesson In Romantics, in 2007. Shortly after, one of the lead singers/vocalist Jason Lancaster ( lead guitarist/vocalist of Kid Named Chicago) left the band over a songwriting dispute. He then started his own band, Go Radio. There are no hard feelings between the two bands, although Lancaster later commented, "I wish it could have gone down differently." In 2009, the band released their second album and first without Lancaster, Anywhere But Here. Mayday Parade's live show also conveys their personality by assuring that they are intensely full of life. The band knows how to put on an engaging show with five energetic members. There's no escaping the energy that Mayday Parade brings. They're all over the stage, making sure the audience goes home happy and wanting more. They love to get the crowd engaged! In 2011, the band released their third, self titled album.

The Maine

Graduating from high school early is nothing for a band when you have already graduated from the school of rock with honors. The Maine have taken no classes, were given no grades, and had no teachers. Hailing from Tempe, AZ, all they had was a gut feeling that the music they were playing rocked and inspired kids nationwide. The Maine released their first label EP, The Way We Talk on December 11, 2007. The Maine formed in January of 2007. After junior year, when most students look forward to slacking off as seniors, The Maine asked two members to graduate early so that they could share their music with the rest of the world. You see, seven periods a day is just seven periods too long for The Maine, who can't wait to get home and write more tunes. Bassist Garrett Nickelsen stated honestly, "School has never really been number one for me, I have always tried to focus on the band so I'm ready to really get this band going." Now, already juggling music video shoots, recording sessions, and concerts, The Maine actually had the ink dry on their record contract before it dries on their diploma. The Maine started when Pat and Garrett were sick of jumping from garage band to garage band and wanted to take their unique vision of what music should be to the big time. John, Kennedy and Jared all had similar ideas and the band knew they had the final line up as the hits and lyrics kept writing themselves. The Maine didn't want to continue in the screamo trend that they felt was swallowing their local music scene. They wanted to create a new sound and began drawing influences from 90's radio alternative bands. Meshing styles like indie, pop and rock can sound forced, often imitating other bands without a hint of originality, but for The Maine mixing a wide variety of genres just sounds natural. Every Maine song begs for an immediate repeat. After gathering a huge following through MySpace, The Maine played their first show in front of over 600 fans, acquired solely through word of mouth and this social networking site. Scouts from almost every major and indie record label were present waiting in line to sign them after their jaw dropping performance. Jared loves every minute on stage, "Playing live is the reason we exist. The energy that we feel on stage is usually a result of what we are feeling from our fans. It's just us conveying our experiences and feelings through our presence, and thriving off of the response we get. Garrett adds to our performance, he has a strong way of communicating with the crowd. When we see Garret going crazy it reminds us all of why we love what we do." The Maine's amazing live performances caught the eye of Fearless Records (Plain White T's, Sugarcult, Mayday Parade) and booking agent Matt Galle (My Chemical Romance, Boys Like Girls and HelloGoodbye.) They spent the Summer of 2008 as the opening band on the Soundtrack of Your Summer, tour alongside co-headliners Boys Like Girls and Good Charlotte, and Metro Station. The band spent time from September 13 to September 21 on tour with The Academy Is... and We The Kings in the UK. The Maine released their debut music video with the single "Everything I Ask For" on November 13, 2008 on MTVU. The Maine released their Christmas EP "...And A Happy New Year" on December 9, 2008. Songs on the EP include a cover of WHAM!'s Last Christmas and a newly recorded version of the song "Ho Ho Hopefully", which, on first release featured Brighten, and the new version was recorded with Eisley and backup vocals of Lights. The music video for "Ho Ho Hopefully" features Justin Richards of Brighten. They performed on "The Secret Valentine" tour with We The Kings, The Cab, There For Tomorrow, and VersaEmerge from February 6, 2009 to March 4, 2009. The Maine was on the "Alternative Press Tour" (more commonly known as the AP Tour) and co-headlined with 3OH!3 and Family Force 5. The two opening acts were Hit The Lights and A Rocket To The Moon, and they toured from March 20, 2009 to May 9, 2009. The Maine has released three full-length albums to date, "Can't Stop Won't Stop", on July 8th, 2008, "Black & White", released on July 13th, 2010, and "Pioneer", released on December 6th 2011.

The Postelles are part of an ideological bloodline that connects The Velvet Underground to the Ramones to Blondie and Television to the Walkmen, artists with unique and varied sensibilities, certainly, but who have in common an allegiance to the unabashedly unadorned rock song. In fact, it was during the late 90s, when New York had no unified sound to speak of and the members of The Postelles were just kids poring over their parents' record collections, that the seeds of the band's sound were sown. They were all reared on 50s and early 60s rock and roll – Buddy Holly, Sam Cooke, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles – these were the bands they heard as kids, these were the bands they aspired to be, and these were the bands that initially brought them together. Citing influences from Motown to Woody Allen, The Postelles serve up a hopelessly catchy head-bopping rock 'n roll groove. Imagine a more modern take on the soundtrack to a 1950s prom with a New York edge thrown in for good measure. The young retro-rock quartet has played such festivals as All Points West, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Iceland Airwaves and Camden Crawl, and with bands such as Vampire Weekend, Fanfarlo, The Kills, The Wombats, and Jack Penate. A Lot Like Birds is a 6-8 piece progressive rock/post-hardcore outfit from Sacramento, CA, formed in September 2009, known for their tendency to experiment with several diverse genre influences and their incorporation of orchestral and ambient sound-scapes contrasted by chaotic, schizophrenic episodes. On January 9th of 2011, A Lot Like Birds announced that Kurt Travis (Ex of Dance Gavin Dance, Five Minute Ride, No Not Constant, and O! The Joy) would be the new singer and second front-man, alongside Cory Lockwood. With their acclaimed addition, the band quickly signed to Doghouse Records (All American Rejects, Say Anything, The Get Up Kids) and acquired The Artery Foundation (Asking Alexandria, Dance Gavin Dance, Alesana) as management. Their debut album Plan B was the brainchild of the band’s guitarist/original vocalist Michael Franzino, who invited several talented musicians in the Sacramento scene (Including various orchestral instrumentalists and a female vocalist) to perform on the record. They spent their first year of existence diligently perfecting their live set, building their fan base, and most recently, writing their sophomore album as a collaborative effort. Their live set is known for setting deep moods that swing from thoughtful, emotional build-ups to body-moving, epic climaxes. After signing both deals, they entered Interlace Audio Recording Studio with producer / engineer Kris Crummet (Closure In Moscow, Fear Before, Dance Gavin Dance) to record their second full length, Conversation Piece. After it's release in the fall of 2011, Conversation Piece received praise and they were called "one of post-hardcore’s most important new bands and one of the few capable of saving the scene." (-MindEqualsBlown.net). A Lot Like Birds will spend all of 2012 on the road, taking their new album and frenzied live antics to the masses.

With the release of their debut EP, Hearts and Spades, the San Francisco Bay Area twenty-somethings better known as I the Mighty are proving themselves a musically seismic force to be reckoned with. With their high-energy, technical riffs and singer Brent Walsh's distinctive wailing, I the Mighty can be best compared to bands like Circa Survive and Say Anything. It didn't take long for I the Mighty to start making an impression on the West Coast. The quartet landed on the music director's desk at local modern rock station Live 105 around the release of Hearts and Spades, and from there it's been one milestone after another. I the Mighty have found regular radio airplay, opening slots for Deftones, Hawthorne Heights, and There For Tomorrow, as well as packed venues up and down the West Coast. Not to mention glowing reviews and coverage in Alternative Press, AMP Magazine, and on AbsolutePunk.net "We wanted to introduce I the Mighty and Hearts and Spades to as many people as possible, so we decided to put together a 'track hunt' and make each of the songs available on different social media sites and later on Purevolume.com," explains singer Brent Walsh. "We researched how our fans and friends discovered music online and embraced that by giving them a reason to connect with us (the EP for free) and then we tried to build a personal friendship with each one." The band's marketing strategy has been an unquestionable success, with over 3,500 full EP downloads within the first 3 months of release. In addition to their high-energy live set, I the Mighty have paired new media intellect with traditional promotion to help build a loyal and enthusiastic group of fans.

The current lineup consists of Scott "Taxi" McMicken (vocals, guitar), Toby "Tables" Leaman (vocals, bass), Zach "Text" Miller (keyboards, guitar), Frank "Thanks" McElroy (guitar) and Eric "Teach" Slick (drums). "There's a little --and a whole lot of down-home harmonizing. It conjures images of old friends sitting on a porch swapping instruments and just letting the tape recorder run." - Doug Wallen Dr. Dog has been creating music in various incarnations for four years now. Beginning with The Psychedelic Swamp, a concept album realized in the damp ruin of a flooded basement with waterlogged guitars and a digital delay pedal, the band has simmered on the back burner of our musical lives for most of its existence but we've recently renewed our resolve to forge ahead and give Dr. Dog the attention we think it deserves. Although Dr. Dog has as many as 20 honorary "members" who have assisted in various (mostly spiritual) capacities through the years, the core of the band consists of five musicians. Our standard instrumentation includes two guitars, bass, drums, keyboard and three part harmonies. The Beach BoysThe BeatlesTom WaitsDavid Bowie and Neil Young are influences, but we would be remiss in not acknowledging our debt to PavementPalace BrothersR. Stevie Moore or Roy Wood. Currently, the lineup is as such: Toby Leaman on bass and singing, Scott McMicken on woof+mud distortion solo guitar and voice, Frank McElroy on lean clean occasionally tremolo'd guitar, Zach Miller on keyboard(s) and Eric Slick on drums. We've all done our share of playing. Toby and Scott have played together in a myriad of bands including Raccoon, Unleash the Bastards, and Beard; Andrew played bass in Raccoon and managed the phenomenal The Teeth; Zach has played with Bradford Trojan and Traffic Jam and studied jazz guitar. Aside from the aforementioned Swamp album - a self-produced, self-recorded low-fi four track recording - we have two other recordings. Toothbrush is a compilation of fourth generation eight-track recordings culled from the past few years. Easy Beat was the first proper record, followed by the 2006 EP Takers And Leavers and two full-length albums, 2006's We All Belong and 2008's Fate. Unearth masterfully combine an intoxicating mix of American and European metal with hardcore ethic and punch. This unique approach makes Unearth one of the most abrasive, commanding and emotionally charged groups in heavy music today. Formed in 1998, Unearth has accomplished more on their own than most bands can do with full support of a label and press. Constant tours all over the globe have earned them respect and recognition from their peers and helped cultivate one of the strongest fan bases around. In the last two years alone, Unearth has embarked on a sold-out headlining tour with Terror, Black Dahlia Murder and Remembering Never in tow, a sold-out run alongside Atreyu, and high profile treks with Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Sounds Of The Underground 2005, The Headbanger's Ball tour and Ozzfest 2004. This summer, Unearth will head back overseas as a featured act on Sounds Of The Underground Europe and will once again tear up the US on the now infamous Ozzfest before unleashing their brutal new album in August. The highly anticipated release "III: In The Eyes Of Fire" was produced by the legendary Terry Date (Soundgarden, Pantera, Deftones) and should satisfy even their most hardcore of fans. While most bands these days seem to have replaced breakdowns with "pretty" choruses, Unearth have gone in the opposite direction delivering their most brutal album to date. This crushing follow up to 2004's "The Oncoming Storm", is sure to cause nothing less than total destruction to every mosh pit in its wake. On October 14, 2008, Unearth released their fourth album, entitled The March. The album features a re-recorded version of the song "The Chosen," which they contributed to the album Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters Colon the Soundtrack. The band recently completed a tour with Gwen Stacy, Whitechapel, The Acacia Strain and Protest the Hero. They are currently on the Never Say Die Club Tour with Parkway Drive, Despised Icon, Architects, Protest The Hero, Whitechapel and Carnifex. They will be on the Metal Hammer Defenders of the Faith tour with other acts such as Lamb of God, Dimmu Borgir and Five Finger Death Punch. As of Early 2009, it has been confirmed by billboard.com that The March has sold more than 100,000 copies world wide. Justin Foley (Killswitch Engage, Blood Has Been Shed) handled the drumming on the band's 2011 album Darkness in the Light. The Contortionist

There are two artists called The Contortionist. 1) A  band from Indianapolis: Bottom heavy open chords that resonate strong enough to shake the core of the earth. Skyrocketing bursts of oscillating guitar leads layer an ominous and dark undercurrent of rhythm. While hardcore punk may be the sound that rules the day in The Contortionist hometown of Indianapolis, it is the band’s signature brand of forward thinking heavy metal that has made them stick out as hometown favorites. The band worked hard to amass a following beyond Indiana through consistent regional shows, coastal touring, and two self-released EPs. They clearly began to define their sound and grow as musicians on their EP titled "Apparition". The songwriting and progression on "Apparition" smacks of a group of musicians who are locked deeply into a remarkable place of expression and creativity that is usually reserved for bands with multiple albums under their belt. While it is not uncommon lately for bands in the world of metal to experiment with melody and progression, many times these breaks from the brutal end up sounding forced, too contrived, or way too over the top in shred. What could have been an opportunity for the listener to settle into some depth, winds up missing the mark. When The Contortionist venture into the realm of ambiance it actually raises the level of the song above the crushing breakdowns and demands the listener stay put for the ride. More impressive than their ability to write and record such material, is how big it all plays live. The room seems to expand and fill with spacious tones just in time to be leveled with ferocity. The band is razor sharp while nailing every bit of nuance their ambitious songwriting offers. It is this ability to dole out their sounds in epic proportions through a live performance that piqued the interest of record label Good Fight Music. The band had already distinguished themselves to Good Fight with a penchant for creating a distinct style of heavy music that has plenty of room for the listener to breathe and settle into. So in early 2010, shortly after the staff had caught them live, a deal had become imminent. With the label now in place, The Contortionist recently spent time in the studio with Unearth's own Ken Susi handling production duties. When asked what interested him about working with The Contortionist, Ken commented - "The Contortionist is not your typical run of the mill band. Lots of bands in this day in age are copycats or just plain old rip offs of other bands that are currently out now. This is truly an original band, from the overall look, sound and structure of the songs. I really feel this band has a bright future ahead of them!" The Contortionist brand new album, titled “Exoplanet”, is a progressive metal mammoth. What stands out about the song structures is the bursts of space and atmosphere underscored by intense sonic emotion and boldness. A welcomed subtlety to the evolution of the band’s sound from previous works is a sparse use of ominous sci-fi inspired clean vocals. For every bit of progression and aura the band offers up on Exoplanet, comes an equal and unforgiving onslaught of heaviness. Just when heavy metal had seemed to reach a ceiling on how punishing a sound could get, The Contortionist raised the bar even higher. Exoplanet will be out in stores on August 31, 2010. 2) A singer/songwriter who resides in Sheffield, UK. The Contortionst is the solo project of me, Andy Hirst (lead singer/songwriter in Japanese Sleepers, drummer in The Purgatory Players). I've been releasing music under this name for about 7 years now, usually just low-key released distributed to friends. For a year or so I had a backing band (The Contortionist and the Wandering Boy Poets) but we disbanded in late 2009. I'm currently working on new stuff.

Hailing from Cedarville, OH, Wolves At The Gate has given a small, quiet town, big, loud rock. Although a combination of five dedicated friends, the line-up originally consisted of just Steve (vocals/guitar) and Ryan (drums) and a series of jam sessions in Steve's living room (since then drummer Dave Nester has joined the band). Before they knew it the scene was abuzz, and the guys were asked to jump on a few local shows. To create a full band Jeremy (guitar) and Ben (bass) were adopted into the WATG family, and soon after an additional vocalist, Colin, was added. Although the band loves to create and play music, they live to "bring Glory to God...we are compelled to love those who we come in contact with regardless of their own personal beliefs, and to share the joy of the salvation that Christ has brought in our lives." But don't you dare shrug them off as a cookie-cutter-Myspace-underOATH-knock-off band. Wolves At The Gate brings on a fresh, original style of music combining catchy rock riffs, tasteful screaming, and even church hymns - not to mention a powerful, Thrice-like vocalist. Besides consistently exceptional musical content, the band's creativity will keep you hooked. -Kim Marshall

Devin the Dude is a Houston-area rapper. Though relatively well-known among the community during the mid-to-late 90's, Devin did not achieve success until his appearance on Dr. Dre's 2001 album. Besides sex, relationships, ridin' trucks, smokin' reefer, drinkin' beer, partying, and conscious or proverbial themes, much of Devin's work is also light-hearted and comically self-deprecating. Copeland started out as a member of the Odd Squad, later known as the Coughee Brothaz, a group of rappers signed to Rap-A-Lot Records. The label is notable for being the home of hip-hop artists such as Geto Boys, Scarface, and Too Much Trouble. Copeland moved on to become part of Scarface's Facemob, before going solo in 1998.[1] Copeland has released six solo albums: The Dude (1998), Just Tryin' ta Live (2002), To tha X-Treme (2004), Waitin' to Inhale (2007), Landing Gear (2008), and Gotta Be Me (2010). He also made a number of guest appearances, including on Dr. Dre's "Fuck You" in 1999, and De La Soul's "Baby Phat" in 2001.[1] In 2008, he ended his 15 year relationship with Houston based Rap-A-Lot Records because the label failed to renew his contract.[2] Later that year, he signed with indie label Razor & Tie.[3] Despite being a critical success, Devin the Dude has not achieved success in the mainstream but continues to be a well-known underground hip-hop artist. The New York Times has called him "A brilliant oddball with a spaced-out flow."[4] In addition, he has been called "Rap's best-kept secret" and "Your favorite rapper's favorite rapper."[5] In 2007, he appeared in a documentary titled Screwed In Houston produced by VBS/Vice Magazine that details the history of the Houston rap scene.

Multi-platinum selling, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Geoff Tate is best known as the creative and driving force behind the progressive metal band Queensrÿche. Geoff is regarded as one of the most skilled vocalists in the genre with hundreds of modern, popular artists citing him and his band as a major influence. Combining social consciousness and expertly crafted lyrics with high-energy, melodically complex music, Geoff and his band have become internationally recognized as the thinking man's rock band. The band's first three albums -- their self-titled EP (1983), The Warning (1984) and Rage for Order (1986) -- all hit gold status selling over 500,000 units each. With the release of their landmark concept album Operation: Mindcrime (1988) -- which won critical and popular acclaim and comparisons to the Who's Tommy and Pink Floyd's The Wall -- Queensrÿche went on to bring their progressive music to sold-out audiences the world over. Following the album's platinum success, Queensrÿche released Empire, which quickly entered the Top Ten on the Billboard charts, eventually generating sales of more than three million copies. The album featured the hugely popular hit, "Silent Lucidity," which would be the band's first Top Ten single (#9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart). Queensrÿche would ultimately perform the Grammy nominated song live at the Grammy awards accompanied by a supporting orchestra. In all, the band has been nominated for a Grammy four times and has had their music featured in three feature films. In 2006, the band released Operation: Mindcrime II, a scorching sequel to their original 1988 tale of "Rock, Revenge and Redemption." The band would soon hit the road performing both albums back-to-back in their entirety in an incredible theatrical presentation. The spectacle would be captured on Mindcrime at the Moore, a double CD/DVD release so popular that the DVD would debut at #1 on Billboard's Top Music DVD Chart and eventually reach gold status. Shortly after the release of that set in July of 2007, Queensryche would release another gem titled, Sign of the Times: The Best of Queensryche, that featured 17 careerspanning tracks including seven Top 10 hits with a two-CD deluxe Collector's Edition that added fifteen rare and previously unreleased recordings. Later that year, the band found themselves on the fall leg of the highly acclaimed Heaven and Hell Tour with the late, great Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice along with other special guest Alice Cooper. Before year's end, the band would release Take Cover, an adventurous 11-song collection of covers ranging from Black Sabbath to Broadway. In March of 2009, Queensrÿche released American Soldier (via Atco/Rhino Records), a concept album inspired by veterans' stories that examines the consequences of war from the soldier's perspective... yet another effort that will solidify the band in rock history. A truly memorable experience, the band met with, and performed for, troops in both the U.S. and the Middle East. In the year 2010, they carried on their immense creativity by presenting the Queensryche Cabaret, which was heralded as "the first adults only rock show." Last year, the band celebrated their 30th Anniversary in rock by releasing Dedicated to Chaos (Roadrunner Records/Loud & Proud) and, once again, toured extensively. Since its inception with Geoff at the helm, the band has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and has performed in over 46 countries. They remain world renowned for their innovative, trend-setting sound. This year, in addition to having performed several shows and major rock festivals with Queensryche, Geoff will be focusing on his solo acoustic dates along with his new solo CD release expected to be out on InsideOut Music in the fall.

Dying Fetus is a brutal  band formed in 1991 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, United States. The line-up consists of John Gallagher (guitar, vocals), Sean Beasley (bass, vocals) and Trey Williams (drums). Dying Fetus' music is a hybrid of death metal and grindcore, characterized by extremely fast blast beats, complex riffing and slow breakdowns. Lyrically-wise, the band dabbled in the usual gory death metal subject matter on their early albums, and respectfully covered "Born In A Casket," a song originally written by famous death metal band Cannibal Corpse. By 2000’s Destroy the Opposition, however, they shifted towards politically driven lyrics. Their lyrics are often left-wing, mostly consisting of aggressive critique addressed towards things such as religion, corporations, consumerism and war. Their fusion of death and grind is called Slam.

Cattle Decapitation are an American  band from San Diego, California. Originally founded in 1996, Cattle Decapitation's songs protest the mistreatment and consumption of animals as well as the abuse of the environment. Lyrics may also focus on subjects such as misanthropy and genocide of the human race. Much of their music is based on putting humans in the situations that animals are subjected to (animal testing, slaughter, etc). Their 2002 album To Serve Man saw controversy in Germany, where distribution company SPV refused to handle the album due to its graphic cover. The cover of the 2004 album Humanure, featuring a cow excreting human remains, was reportedly censored without permission from the label in some outlets. Record store owners did not display the album, making it difficult for customers to find and buy it. Former member Gabe Serbian is a member of the band The Locust. Metal author and journalist Garry Sharpe-Young once acknowledged the band as "one of the few metal bands whose message hits as hard as their music." Cattle Decapitation has toured with many  bands including SuffocationCryptopsyThe Black Dahlia MurderDeicideBehemothHate EternalKrisiun, and Job for a Cowboy. Their latest album The Harvest Floor was released in 2009. The band has been cited repeatedly for being an early influence to bands such as Job For A Cowboy, The Black Dahlia Murder as well as a legion of "" hopefuls. In August 2009, Cattle Decapitation parted ways with long-time bassist Troy Oftedal because of musical and personal differences. Their latest album, Monolith of Inhumanity, was released in 2012. It received positive reviews upon release.

Cerebral Bore are a Death metal band based in Glasgow, Scotland. Although the name was used with different members in 2004, the cerebral bore that exists now wasn't born until 2006. From then, the main focus of the band has been to write brutal music and bring it to metal fans all over the planet. The Band recorded the E.P. "The Dead Flesh Architect" in November 2006, and played their first show the same month. For the next few months they played only in their home town, and made their first steps out of Scotland in June 2007, playing in Belfast, Northern Ireland. And then made their first impression on the UK scene in July 2007, playing in London alongside Dead Infection, Beef Conspiracy & Amputated, and heading to Newcastle the day after to play at the Blastonbury Festival in Support of Anal Cunt as well as dozens more. Staying true to their early ambitions of taking their music as far and wide as they could, in August 2007 the band were booked to play in New york City, USA after having a song played on mainstream metal radio in NY. On their first trip outside Britain, they shared the stage with bands like Mortician, Deceased and Criminal Element in the Mean Fiddler in Manhattan New york, where they were watched by Type O Negative frontman, Pete Steele. The band were faced with early problems with their front man deserting the band only weeks before their American tour, and this problem plagued them until November 2007 where they found a new front man. They continued playing shows throughout the UK, supporting bands like Origin, Gorerotted, Napalm death, the Black Dahlia Murder, Brutal Truth and many more. In early 2008 the band were offered the chance to play at Central Illinois metal fest in the USA, and decided to go ahead and book a 2nd American tour which saw them spend 6 weeks on the road, touring from Las Vegas, Nevada all the way to the opposite coast to New york city. The tour was booked without a booking agent, and through determination and luck, they went ahead and managed to book shows along side California bands Inherit Disease and Condemned. As well as playing in support of some of the biggest bands in the genre, including Origin, Suffocation, Mortician, Insidious Decrepancy, Waking the Cadaver & Devourment to name a few. After arriving home from the tour, the band were back on the road 2 weeks later traveling to Switzerland to play at the Mountains of Death Open Air Festival set in the Swiss Alps, where they played with bands like Cephalic Carnage, Despised Icon, Inveracity & Misery Index. The band continued constant shows throughout the UK & Ireland, playing regularly with bands like Reth, Infected Disarray, Introrectalgestation and many more top end UK bands. In December 2008, the band traveled to Portugal, where they played along side DM legends Macabre at the Butchery at Xmastime fest, in the town of Guarda. Already in 2009, the band have shows lined up in Greece, Finland, Russia, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. As well as UK tours supporting bands like Putrid Pile & Viral Load.

Helstar

Helstar began its quest in 1982. The line up consisted of James Rivera (A.K.A Bill Lionel) (vocals), Larry Barragan (guitar), Tom Rogers (guitar), Hector Pavon (drums) and Paul Medina (bass). By 1984 the band had signed with Combat Records and recorded its first album entitled "Burning Star". The average age of the band at that time was 19! After gaining much critical acclaim, the band began to splinter because of their management situation. It was at this time that James and Larry decided to part ways with the rest of the band and guide Helstar in a new direction. Helstar recorded "Remnants of War" in 1985 with a new and powerful line up. Jerry Abarca, Rob Treviño, and drummer Rene Luna joined the band and released "Remnants" in 1986 for Combat records. Once again the band received much praise from around the world. Helstar embarked on its first US tour and opened up for such heavy hitters as Anthrax, Megadeth, TT Quick, and King Diamond to name a few. Once again though, line up changes reared its ugly head and Rob and Rene chose to leave the band. This happened at a critical time as the band had decided to move to LA in pursuit of a new record deal. It was at this time that guitarist Andre Corbin and drummer Frank Ferreira joined the band. Helstar signed with Metal Blade records and produced two albums for the label. "A Distant Thunder" saw the band cross the pond for the first time. The band played several arena sized venues with Yngwie Malmsteen and Tankard. Headlining and selling out the famed Dynamo club was one of the highlights of the tour. In 1989 the band quickly followed up "A Distant Thunder" with "Nosferatu". It was Helstar's first concept album, with half the album being dedicated to the story of Bram Stoker's "Dracula". Many believe that this album was ahead of it's time. Not only did it feature the most intricate music Helstar had done to this time, it dealt with a subject that several years later would become en vogue. It was the last album Helstar would record for Metal Blade. Andre and Frank exited the band soon thereafter. With the "grunge" movement running high, the face of music in the U.S. changed. Unable to secure a deal, Larry Barragan followed suite and left not only Helstar but music all together. But not before recording a 4 song demo with two new members. Aaron Garza took over at guitar and Russell Deleon became the new drummer. The demo would later be released as "Helstar-The James Rivera Legacy". James Rivera never lost sight of his dream and continued along with Jerry Abarca as Helstar. Now having to fill Larry Barragan's shoes they turned to former Helstar guitarist Rob Treviño. They recorded "Multiples in Black" with the help of Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson as producer. This would be the last proper album Helstar would record. Several years later Metal Blade records released a live cd "Twas the Night of a Hellish Xmas". James Rivera later released 2 demo recordings as "The James Rivera Legacy". Helstar for all intensive purposes disbanded. Only James Rivera and Jerry Abarca would continue to do shows as Helstar but would not record again under that name. Helstar laid the groundwork for the progressive power metal movement without even knowing it. Three things can be said about Helstar throughout the years. The music was full of integrity, it was heavy, and it was true. James Rivera has enjoyed much success staying busy with several projects. He is considered by some to be one of the most legendary metal vocalist ever. He has recorded with Destiny's End, Seven Witches, Killing Machine, and is now a member of Vicious Rumors. He has kept the Helstar candle burning bright throughout. Larry Barragan, Rob Treviño, and Russell Deleon have also resurfaced with a new band named Eternity Black. They have released a self-titled 5 song EP as well. Having never lost touch, the friendship and the bond between these members has always been strong. So when Robb Chavez came up with the idea, it was a "no brainer". Will this band continue? That really depends on you the fans and what the demand will be. There is one thing we all know for sure. When Helstar hits the stage on June 10th with all of its energy and power, it will be a show you will not want to miss it! Helstar has recorded seven full length albums spanning over two decades. They have amassed an impressive body of work.

How do you approach an album as tantalizingly complex as Paralytic Stalks? You could begin from a lyrical perspective and appraise the occasion it provides for an unobstructed view directly into the psyche of Kevin Barnes, of Montreal's principal songwriter. But be prepared -- one listen to "I spend my waking hours haunting my own life / I made the one I love start crying tonight / And it felt good" ("Spiteful Intervention") immediately reveals this is not Barnes filtered through the lens of an adopted persona or invented alter ego. Rather, these are confessions of an infinitely more personal nature than anything he's written since 2007's Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? Amidst dark ruminations on human existence, revenge, self-hatred, and his relationship with wife Nina, one encounters an emotionally raw Barnes struggling to contain his savage thoughts: "So much violence in my head / How are we still alive?" ("Authentic Pyrrhic Remission"). And though it's easy to become totally immersed within the captivating power of these revelations song after song, focusing only on the lyrics would prevent you from fully comprehending the true depth of
Barnes's work. Because in a different, yet equally enthralling manner, Paralytic Stalks's musical dimension proves itself similarly worthy of preoccupation. For on a sonic level, the album -- recorded at Barnes's home studio in Athens, GA and mixed at Chase Park Transduction with the assistance of engineer Drew Vandenberg (Deerhunter, Toro y Moi) -- is a stimulating array of densely packed ideas presented with stunning agility. Never before has an of Montreal record moved so fluidly from one song to the next -- each track feeding off the last in what seems a singular album-long movement that never allows you to rip your ears away. After the addition of classically trained violinist Kishi Bashi to of Montreal's touring line-up, Barnes embraced the idea of working with session musicians (many of whom were Kishi Bashi's friends) for the first time in his career. During this period, Barnes forged a special connection with Zachary Cowell, a session musician who subsequently arranged all of the album's brass and woodwind parts (and is now the band's newest member). The experience also emboldened Barnes to venture into previously unexplored territory with his songwriting. As a result, Paralytic Stalks at times resembles modern classical with its intricate compositions, while at others echoes of neo-prog, pseudo-country, and 60s pop can be heard.Examples of these new elements abound throughout the record, notably on "Wintered Debts," which witnesses its hushed vocal and acoustic guitar intro giving way to a country shuffle replete with pedal steel guitar, as well as the flute-driven, ELO-inspired single "Dour Percentage." And yet, above all, Paralytic Stalks remains absolutely defiant of any labels that attempt to completely pin down the type of music Barnes creates. As such, ultimately it doesn't matter what angle you choose as your entry point. Because the album's true value is that it even forces you to question how to approach it at all. Conceived on the fringe of a contemporary pop music landscape that seldom encourages listeners to dig beyond the surface level to receive satisfaction, Paralytic Stalks is the rare album with the audacity to DEMAND such a response.

Emilie Autumn Liddell (born in Los Angeles, California, USA, on September 22, 1979), better known by her stage name Emilie Autumn, is an American singer-songwriter, poet, and violinist. Autumn draws influence for her music—the style of which she has alternatively labeled as “Victoriandustrial” and glam rock—from plays, novels, and history, particularly the Victorian era. Performing with her all-female backing band The Bloody Crumpets, Autumn incorporates elements of classical music, cabaret, electronica, and glam rock with theatrics, burlesque, and “flamboyant” outfits. Outspoken about bipolar disorder and her experience in a modern-day psychiatric ward, she has written an autobiographical novel, 2010’s The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls. Growing up in Malibu, California, she began learning the violin at the age of four and left regular school five years later with the goal of becoming a world-class violinist; she practiced eight or nine hours a day and read a wide range of literature. Progressing to writing her own music, she studied under various teachers and went to Indiana University, which she left over issues regarding the relationship between classical music and the appearance of the performer. Through her own independent label Traitor Records, Autumn debuted with her classical album On A Day: Music For Violin & Continuo, followed by the release in 2003 of her supernaturally themed album Enchant. She appeared in singer Courtney Love’s backing band on her 2004 America’s Sweetheart tour and returned to Europe. She released the 2006 album Opheliac with the German label Trisol Music Group. In 2007, she released Laced/Unlaced; the re-release of On a Day… appeared as Laced with songs on the electric violin as Unlaced. She later left Trisol to join New York-based The End Records in 2009 and release Opheliac in the United States, where previously it had only been available as an import. Currently she is on tour for her upcoming album titled Fight Like A Girl.
