About Soldier Field
Soldier Field is located at 1410 S Museum Campus Drive on the near south side of Chicago, Illinois 60605.
The stadium has a capacity of 63,500 and is the third smallest stadium in the NFL.
Soldier Field first broke ground in August of 1922 and was opened in 1924 at a construction cost of $13 million and is the oldest NFL Stadium celebrating 90 years of operation. The interior of the stadium was renovated from 2001 to 2003 at a cost of $632 million.
Soldier Field is the home of the Chicago Bears since the 1971 season.
Driving from I-55
Take I-55, the Stevenson Expressway, northbound to Lake Shore Drive/Highway 41 North. Take LSD north to the 18th Drive exit.
Driving from I-290
Take I-290, the Eisenhower Expressway, east to Congress Parkway. Take Congress Parkway to Columbus Drive. Turn right and take Columbus Drive south to the 18th Drive exit.
Driving from I-90/94
Take I-90/94, the Dan Ryan Expressway, north to the Lake Shore Drive/22nd street exit. Stay to the right and exit to LSD. Take LSD/Highway 41 north to the 18th Drive exit.
Driving from I-94
Take I-94, the Kennedy Expressway, south to the Congress Parkway exit. Follow Congress Parkway to Columbus Drive. Turn right on Columbus Drive and follow Columbus south to the 18th Drive exit.
Parking lots open four hours prior to kickoff and there are seven different lot and garages to choose from
Buses, Campers, and recreational vehicles may park at specific lots for a designated fee.
Parking prices vary depending on the event but are in the range of $10 to $50.
Gate Locations and Openings
There are 19 different gate entrances in Soldier Field with the ticket office located in gate 10, suites are located on gate 14. Gates open about two hours before kick off and guests will have to go through a security checkpoint. Guests should make it a priority to arrive early to avoid delays.
For Chicago Bears games at Soldier Field the 2012 Bag Guidelines prohibit backpacks, purses, bags, cases or fanny packs larger than 12 inches x 12 inches x 12 inches. Fans are encouraged to return unauthorized items to their vehicles. The Bears and Soldier Field management cannot safeguard items which are not permitted to be brought into the stadium.
