Having scored over a dozen number ones on the US Country charts, Dierks Bentley is one of the most popular male singer-songwriters to emerge from the Nashville scene since the turn of the century. Born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1975, Bentley grew up on the sounds of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings and after moving to the Music City in his late teens, landed a job at the TNT television network researching footage of classic country performances. But Bentley also had ambitions of becoming an artist in his own right and after years of working on his own demos, he landed a deal with a Capitol Records in 2003. His self-titled debut album arrived in the same year and made an immediate commercial impact, producing a US Top 30 hit and the first of several country chart-toppers in the shape of “What Was I Thinkin’.” After winning best newcomer accolades at both the ACM and CMA Awards, Bentley continued to build on his success with 2005 sophomore Modern Day Drifter and an induction into the Grand Ole Opry, while 2006’s Long Trip Alone helped him to pick up the first of multiple Grammy nominations. In 2008, Bentley allowed his fans to choose the tracklist for his first hits compilation, Every Mile a Memory, before achieving his highest entry on the Billboard 200 when 2009’s Feel That Fire peaked at number three. After adding to his catalog with 2010’s Up on the Ridge, Bentley recruited the likes of Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, Tim O’Brien and Sam Bush for 2012’s Home and paid tribute to his favorite alcoholic beverage with the self-funded E.P., Country and Cold Cans. In 2013, he headed out onto the road with Miranda Lambert for the 33-date co-headlining Locked and Reloaded North American tour, and provided guest vocals on The Cadillac Three’s breakthrough hit, “The South.” A year later, Bentley scored his seventh consecutive US Top 10 album with Riser, a critically-acclaimed affair which pushed his tally of number one singles well into double figures, while in 2015, he invited Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae and Canaan Smith to join him on his cross-country Sounds of Summer Tour.
