Jason Aldean Biography

With eight Hot Country Songs number ones to his name, US singer-guitarist Jason Aldean has slowly but surely become one of contemporary county music’s most popular stars. Born Jason Aldine Williams in Macon, Georgia in 1977, he grew up on the music of George Strait, Hank Williams Jr, and Alabama and after being taught how to play the guitar by his father, began to perform in talent contests and local fairs. Aged just 15, he joined the house band at Georgia nightspot Nashville South and after deciding that his real name was too generic, signed a publishing contract with Warner-Chappell under his now more familiar guise. After gigging for several years across various college towns throughout the Southeast and two failed record deals, he was on the verge of quitting his music career before he eventually got to release an album, 2005’s self-titled debut, through the indie label, Broken Bow Records. Selling over a million copies, it spawned they chart-topping “Why,” a cover version of McBride & The Ride’s “Amarillo Sky”, and helped him bag Top New Male Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Jason Aldean tickets then went on sale for the “Me & My Gang” & “Still Feels Good” tours with Rascal Flatts and the “Free & Easy Summer Tour” with Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert, and in 2007, he released his sophomore album, Relentless. Two years later, Wide Open produced his first US Top 40 hit, “She’s Country,” and two further country number ones, “Big Green Tractor” and “The Truth,” whilst following support slots with Lady Antebellum and Brooks & Dunn, Jason Aldean tickets were released for his first major headline tour. After appearing with Bryan Adams on CMT’s Crossroads, he then collaborated with Kelly Clarkson (“Don’t You Wanna Stay”) on 2010’s My Kinda Party and later performed his first US Top 10 hit, “Dirt Road Anthem,” alongside Ludacris at the CMT Music Awards. In 2012, he scored an eighth country number one with “Take A Little Ride” and his first Billboard Top 200 chart-topper with his fifth studio effort, Night Train. Fans then snapped up Jason Aldean tickets for the 2013 tour of the same name, which also featured the likes of Luke Bryan, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett.
