Always one to adjust successfully, Kid Rock has fused elements of hip-hop, country and rock and roll to create a patented sound he’s called his own since 1990. Born in Romeo, Michigan in 1971, Rock first generated an appreciation for music when he joined the Furious Funkers, a breakdance crew, at age 11. From there, he received a cheap set of turntables and honed his skills as a deejay, often hosting parties for beer money. He developed the stage name Kid Rock as a teenager and would soon begin to rap in the group The Beast Crew, which led him to a record label with Jive Records.

Rock released his debut album “Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast”, which contained the controversial song “Yo Da-Lin in the Valley”. The album sold an estimated 100,000 units and Rock would soon befriend Uncle Kracker, who would become his DJ despite having no prior experience with turntables.

Rock would then form the Twisted Trucker Band, his live backing band. He also enlisted Joseph “Joe C.” Calleja as his hype man in 1994 prior to the release of 1996’s “Early Mornin’ Stoned Pimp”. It was his next album, “Devil Without a Cause”, that propelled him into the mainstream limelight in 1998. The album spawned the major hit “Bawitdaba”, which became an anthem of the late 90s and one of Rock’s most popular songs of his career. With his movement into rap metal, Kid Rock solidified himself as the genre’s spokesman alongside counterparts Limp Bizkit.

After enjoying massive success at the end of the decade, Kid Rock then took a stab at country music with 2001’s “Cocky”. The album contained the hit duet “Picture” with Cheryl Crow, which would align him as country rock artist. Since “Cocky”, Rock has released six more studio albums, with 2015’s “First Kiss” being his latest. As he prepares to tour the album around the U.S. this summer and reintroduce his $20 concert ticket concept, Kid Rock tickets will surely be in high demand across the nation.
