The National Basketball Association (NBA) was founded on June 6, 1946. It was originally
called the Basketball Association of America (BAA). In 1949 the BAA merged with the
already existing National Basketball League to create what is now known as the NBA. The
initial NBA tickets allowed watching one of seventeen teams. It later reduced the number
of teams to eleven and then the NBA tickets were only sold for eight teams. Of those eight
teams, all are still in the league today. Those teams are the Knicks, Celtics, Warriors, Lakers,
Kings, Pistons, Hawks and 76ers. In the 1960s, NBA tickets for the Celtics games were very
popular. The Celtics had a dynasty that won eight straight championships.
In 1954 the league introduced the 24 second shot. This was introduced to discourage
stalling and more shooting. The “shot clock” also sped up the flow of the game and allowed
for more team balance. In 1979, NBA tickets became even more exciting as the league
introduced the three-point field goal. That shot added another dimension to the game.
Over the years, many players have become more proficient in the 3-point shot. Many teams
often have 3-point specialists. Hitting that shot gives a team more depth and makes it
harder to play defense.
It is also important to note that if you have NBA tickets to today’s game you are watching
some of the highest paid average annual salary players of any professional sports. The
highest paid average salary team---the LA Lakers.
Basketball has become universal sport. Unlike the NFL, which is localized in United States
and Canada, NBA tickets allow one to see players from all over the world. Many NBA
teams will have players from Great Britain, China, Croatia, France and other countries. This
is a testament that NBA is growing in popularity all over the world. Foreign players
grow up with that as a goal—becoming an NBA player. NBA tickets are a global show
indeed. Basketball is one of the sports in the Summer Olympic Games. USA NBA players and
NBA players from other countries play for their respective teams. It is a beautiful sight.
NBA fans cheer for a great sport. These players are in great shape. They run up and down
the court. The entertainment from the team mascots, dancers and other acts makes NBA
tickets a great option for a night of fun. The game is easy to follow. Every time the ball goes
in the basket, a team scores (well most of the time). With a long season from November to
June, NBA tickets have a long season for attendance. Always played inside, weather is not a
concern during the games.
When you hear names from the past like, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and
others, you hear about a legacy. Current stars are Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Derrick
Rose. Watching any of these guys with your NBA tickets is worth the investment. Why not become an NBA fan today?
