The Portland Trail Blazers first came into the NBA in 1970 and have been located in Portland, Oregan for every season since. While playoff runs have been few and far between in recent years, those who bought Portland Trail Blazers tickets in the 70s were treated to some amazing basketball. The Trail Blazers won the division title in 1978 as well as the Conference and NBA titles in 1977. They have a total of four division titles, three Conference titles, and one NBA title to their name. The greatest period in the team's history came from 1974-1978 when Bill Walton was with the team. This was a time when Portland Trail Blazers tickets would sell like hotcakes. Bill Walton is, to this date, the only Trail Blazer to have won the NBA MVP of the Year (1978). He was also in the 1978 All-NBA First Team and was an instrumental part of the team winning the 1977 NBA title. That year will stand out as the best in the history of the Portland Trail Blazers. Those who regularly buy Portland Trail Blazers tickets still remissness about those days and hope that a player like Walton will be seen in a Trail Blazer shirt sometime soon. The early 90's were also a successful period for the Trail Blazers. Portland Trail Blazers tickets sold very well during this time as the team managed to win two division titles and two Conference titles from 1990-1992. However, players would continue to leave the Trail Blazers for other teams and it was difficult to mount a sustained challenge for another NBA title.

From 1995 till the present, the Trail Blazers have played their games at the Rose Garden. This stadium could hold 21,401 people until 1999, when it was renovated to hold 19,980. The games are comfortable sell outs and many fans find themselves unable to buy Portland Trail Blazers tickets for the big games. Building the stadium was somewhat contentious from a financial point of view, but no one will doubt that it has been a huge success. The revenue generated by sales of Portland Trail Blazers tickets has more than justified the $262 million it cost to build the Rose Garden. The relationship that the Trail Blazers enjoy with their fans is unique. The amount of fans that keep buying Portland Trail Blazers tickets is quite amazing. They may not even have made the playoffs recently, but that changes nothing. In fact, the passion that fans show for the team is described by the term "Blazermania". The final 27 home games of the 2007-2008 season were all sell outs and this was also the case in the following 4 seasons. Those who keep coming back for more Portland Trail Blazers tickets will be hoping the team can sign some more talent in the coming months to mount a serious playoff challenge and match the might of the NBA's top teams. One thing that the Trail Blazers can always count on is a packed and noisy home stadium. This is one of the draws of the team and why players always want to play for this team. Some NBA fans might be fickle and success driven, but that is not the case with "Blazermania". These fans love their team unconditionally and will keep coming back in droves no matter what.

6-12-13: Despite a poor 33-win season and no playoff berth, the Blazers have a very bright spot in rookie point guard Damien Lillard. Last month, Lillard was awarded the Rookie of The year award for his accomplishments. Averaging 19 points and over 6 assists per game, Lillard made an immediate impact that surprised many. Evidently the Blazers were not surprised at all, because they drafted him 6th overall in last year’s first round. As he begins to gel more with teammates such as LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum look for the Blazers to once again start a long streak of playoff appearances for their loyal fans. Winning is never easy in the West, so head coach Terry Stotts and his players will have their work cut out for them.

2-20-13: The Portland Trailblazers are currently out of the playoff picture. They have gotten great play from their rookie point guard, Damien Lillard, but it hasn’t been enough. At 25-29 they are losers of 6 in a row and sit in the 9th spot out West. The Blazers however have protected their home court nicely winning 17 out of 26 games at the Rose Garden. The Blazers face the Lakers in LA and the Celtics at home as their next two games approach. A serious push will need to be made in the next 2 weeks if the Blazers want to enter the post season. With the all-star break in the rear view, the Western Conference will shut it’s doors quickly.

1-26-12: Coming off a disappointing 4th quarter collapse in Brooklyn, the Blazers are still trying to find their niche. With decent talent up and down the roster the Blazers should look to improve on their 6-7 record and make a playoff push. Games against the Pistons and Wizards should help their cuase and push them over the .500 mark. The Blazers opened the season with an impressive win against the Lakers but then proceeded to lose 5 of the next 6 games.
