Oh Canada! Established in 1995 along with the Vancouver Grizzlies, the Toronto Raptors
hit the NBA scene. Their establishment gave the NBA a presence in beautiful Canada. The
general manager of the new team was a household name in basketball, Isiah Thomas. As one
would expect, Toronto Raptors tickets were hot in Canada. Although the tickets were hot,
at first the team wasn’t. They struggled in their infant years. It wasn’t until the acquisition of
Vince Carter that the team realized some success. Acquiring Vince Carter did more than just
help the team; attendance skyrocketing--which means Toronto Raptors tickets sold like hot
cakes.
The team made playoff appearances in years 2000, 2001 and 2002 and made it as far as
the Eastern Conference Finals. Things were looking up for the new franchise. However,
the success took a turn for the worse and the Raptors found themselves struggling again.
Their fate appeared to turn around, along with the sale of Toronto Raptors tickets, with the
addition of Chris Bosh to the team. The Raptors returned to the playoffs in 2007 and there
was excitement in Toronto again. In 2001 The Raptors found themselves as the lone Canadian team when the Vancouver
Grizzlies moved to Memphis. Now, as the only team in Canada, Toronto Raptors tickets are
drawing sales from a new fan base.
The team is still struggling trying to find a way to overcome their recent struggles as a team.
Toronto Raptors tickets are still well sought after, eventhough this team is the only NBA
team in Canada. The NBA still draws excellent attendance in Canada.
The original home for the owners of Toronto Raptors tickets was the Sky Dome, also known
as the Rogers Centre. In 1999, the Raptors moved to the Air Canada Centre and this is where
they play today. NBA attendance records were made for three seasons at this venue. This
means that the Toronto Raptors tickets were eaten up by the Canadian fans.
A nationwide contest was held to name this team. With over 2000 entries submitted, the
name of Raptors was selected over Hogs, T-Rex, Tarantulas, Beavers and others. The name
was suggested because of the famous movie, Jurassic Park.
Fans are very appreciative of their Toronto Raptors tickets. They are normally entertained by
a red velociraptor during the games. To keep the attendance high, Toronto Raptors tickets
are sometimes bundled with other give-a-ways. One of the fan favorites is a cheese or
pepperoni pizza slice for everyone, if the Raptors score 100 or more points in games--win or
lose. Yummy!
The Raptors fans are ready to have some consistent success and move back toward making
the NBA playoffs. They will need the help of the fans to cheer them on and keep the arena
full in support of their team. The Toronto Raptors tickets shouldn't be looked at as a waste
of money. These fans are real...they are true blue...they love their team and they are ready
to fight--Raptors style!

11-20-12: Many would question the decision to start Kyle Lowry over Jose Calderon, but since the injury to Lowry, which seems to be a consistent event from season to season, Calderon has flourished. The Raptors currently sit in last place at 3-7 but that is no surprised considering they have played 7 of 10 games against playoff teams from last year. Going forward it will be interesting to see how the team chooses to operate as a unit, and who they will start at point guard; either Calderon or Lowry when he returns from injury.
2-14-13: The raptors finished the first half of the season pretty strongly, going 6-2 in their last eight games including their current four game winning streak. The blockbuster trade, landing them Rudy Gay is a big reason why. Suffering from a log jam at the point guard position for most of the season, they Raptors corrected this by sending Jose Calderon to the Pistons and in return receiving Rudy Gay, one of the league’s most talented wing players. With notable wins over Denver, New York and Indiana, who are all playoff teams, the Raptors have played inspired ball since the trade. Still a longshot for the playoffs, the Raptors sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, 6 games behind the eighth seed.
