History Of The ACC Championship Game

The ACC Championship game will take place on the first Saturday of next month on December 6 at the Bank of America Stadium. The ACC Championship has been played at this venue since 2010 with the last game between Florida St. against Duke as the Seminoles routed the Blue Devils that game 45-7. According to TiqIQ, ACC Championship tickets have a current average price of $124.34 in the secondary market, with a get in price as low as $9. The ACC Championship pits the champion from the Coastal Division against the champion from the Atlantic Division.

Not surprisingly, the Florida St. Seminoles have ran away with the Atlantic Division and will play for the ACC Championship. However, the question remains just who will they play? Right now Georgia Tech sits atop of the Coastal standing with a 6-2 conference record. Still, the Duke Blue Devils have a 4-2 conference record and hold the tiebreaker, which means if Duke win their remaining two games they will win the division that would set up a rematch with Florida St. from last year’s game. But if the Blue Devils lose either of their next two games than it will be Georgia Tech that gets a crack at Florida St.

The ACC Championship game has been played annually since 2005 after a conference expansion following the 2004 season. Overall, Florida State and Virginia Tech have the most ACC championships at 3. Florida St will look to break that tie next month with their sixth appearance in the title game.

ACC Championship News

12-5-14: The ACC Championship game tomorrow night at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina as the Florida State Seminoles(12-0) will take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (10-2) who come into this game with a five game winning streak and strong rushing game ranking third in the nation. The Seminoles have won 28 straight games and their winning streak began the last time these two teams played in the ACC Championship game two year ago with the Seminoles coming out with a 21-15 win. Jameis Winston will have to play much better for this game after a four interception game agasint the Gators, which brought him to 17 picks for the season.

12-4-14: In what will be the cheapest title game among all four championship games this weekend, Florida State will play Georgia Tech at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte for top honors in the ACC on Saturday. The average price for ACC Championship tickets is $80.90 on the secondary market and get-in price starts at just $26. Jameis Winston and his Seminoles will look to keep their unbeaten season alive after struggling against unranked teams in recent weeks. Their No. 4 ranking will be on the line against Georgia Tech, who has posted double digit victories in each of its past five games.

12-3-14: Tickets for the ACC Championship game this Saturday at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina have a current average price of $102.84 in the secondary market, with a get in price of $26. The Florida State Seminoles(12-0) have dropped to number 4 in the college football rankings after three straight lackluster wins against unranked opponents, despite winning 28 consecutive games heading into this matchup with Georgia Tech (10-2), who have won five in a row as the Yellow Jackets have the number 3 rushing attack in the nation. Seminoles QB Jamies Winston will have to play better in this game after being picked off four times in his last outing against the Gators.

12-2-14: After posting its 28th straight victory with a win over Florida last week, Florida State enters the ACC Championship Game against Georgia Tech with perhaps its most formidable challenge in the past two seasons. Amidst more sexual assault allegations and off-the-field woes for star quarterback Jameis Winston, the Seminoles have plenty of controversy on their hands and Georgia Tech has posted two consecutive wins over ranked teams in Clemson and Georgia. Florida State hasn’t escaped with a comfortable win since its Week 11 matchup against Virginia and has looked increasingly vulnerable with each passing week. They’ll need to remain focused on the task at-hand on Saturday when they take on the streaking Yellow Jackets at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

12-1-13: After defeating North Carolina on Saturday the Duke Blue Devils will face #2 ranked Florida State in the 2013 ACC Championship game. The game will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina on December 7th.
