Clemson Tigers News

5-28-15: Former Clemson men's basketball coach Bill Foster has passed away. The former coach led Clemson to its first NCAA Tournament appearance record multiple 20-win season at four different DI schools before he retired in 1997. His cumulative career record at the DI level was 532-325.

9-5-14: The Clemson Tigers in the first 23 minutes of their season opener against the Georgia Bulldogs were on even terms going into the half with a 21-21 tie. Clemson’s new offense looked solid and its veteran defense was pretty good the first half, but then Georgia’s Todd Gurley exploded and the Tigers were outplayed in every facet of the game in the second half. Clemson managed just 15 yards in the second half and just one first down. Senior quarterback Cole Stoudt started for Clemson but split time with freshman Deshuan Watson who both had their moment of efficiency in the first half but both QB’s combined for only 203 yards passing on 18 of 33 completions. Clemson will look to rebound from the blowout loss to Georgia when they host South Carolina State this Saturday.
