The LSU Tigers had a down year by their standards finishing with a 10-3 record in Head Coach Les Miles ninth year with the team. LSU under Les Miles tenure have reached two National Championship games compiling a 1-1 record last losing to Alabama in the 2011 season. They have since lost in the Chick-fil-A-Bowl following the 2012 season, and defeated Iowa in the Outback Bowl last year respectively. This season, LSU is again expected to be one of the powerhouse teams in the loaded SEC conference. However, there many new faces at skilled positions so there could be some growing pains for a very talented but young LSU team.

The 2014 LSU football schedule begins on the road with a meeting with the Wisconsin Badgers. The first home game at Tigers Stadium on the LSU football schedule is on September 6 with a showdown with Sam Houston State Bearkats. Other teams LSU will play at home on the 2014 LSU Football schedule are intriguing matchups with Mississippi State Bulldogs a rematch from last year dominating victory by LSU and the Final home game of the year on LSU Football schedule is a meeting with fierce rival Alabama who dominated the Tigers last year with 38-17 victory.

LSU football tickets on the LSU football schedule at Tigers Stadium are some of the most expensive in college football. LSU football tickets are ranked in the top ten in overall average price with an average of $174.45 according to TicketIQ. The most expensive game for LSU football tickets is their meeting with Crimson Tide on November 8 with a current average price of $537.52. The cheapest game for LSU football tickets is their September 13 matchup with Louisianan-Monroe Warhawks. Still, LSU football tickets at Tigers Stadium only have two games this year with over a $200 average.

Coming into this season, Head Coach Les Miles stills seems uncertain on what kind of team the Tigers will be in 2014. At quarterback, Zach Mettenberger is gone as are backups Rob Bolden, Stephen Rivers, and Hayden Rettig who have all transferred out. Returning to LSU this season is sophomore Brandon Jennings who didn’t particularly impress anyone in the Outback Bowl against Iowa, going 7 of 19 passes for just 82 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

Also gone for LSU are wide receivers Odell Beckham and Jarvis Laundry who departed for the NFL, as are running backs Jeremy Hill and Alfred Blue. Returning at running back are Terrence Magee and Kenny Hilliard who are not every down backs. New incoming freshman Leonard Fournette was givien the opening day starter spot at running back as soon as he enrolled.

The LSU Tigers should be formidable but are not expected to make another run at the National Championship as they have touch SEC matchups on their football schedule with Texas, A&M, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Arkansas. But, don’t be surprised to see LSU make a return to Houston for Texas Bowl game against a Big 12 opponent.

LSU Tigers Football News

12-1-14: Leonard Fournette ran for a career high 146 yards and a touchdown, while Jalen Collins’ late interception sealed LSU's 23-17 win over Texas A&M this past Thursday night. 11-24-14: The Tigers had the week off as they prepare for Texas A&M on Thanksgiving in College Station. The Tigers can claim they had a hangover from the overtime loss to Alabama, but falling to a team that dropped 17 consecutive conference games in Arkansas last week is terrible for a team that has a load of talent.

11-10-14: The Tigers were unable to keep Alabama from tying the game in the final minute of regulation, then in overtime allowed the Crimson Tide win 20-13. LSU had a 13-10 lead with 50 seconds left after Colby Delahoussaye's 39-yard field goal. The ensuing kickoff went out of bounds, giving Alabama a shorter field to move downfield and force overtime. LSU finished with 259 yards. Leonard Fournette rushed for a team high 79 yards. The Tigers play Arkansas this week.

11-3-14: LSU won three straight heading into this bye week. Their last win was a 10-7 victory over previously unbeaten Ole Miss. They were down 17-10 early in the second half, but allowed 17 straight points to turn the game into a runaway. The Tigers made late effort behind backup quarterback Brandon Harris, but their comeback bid fell short.

9-15-14: The Tigers weren’t challenged in a 31-0 rout of a Louisiana-Monroe team this past weekend. With that being said, head coach Les Miles appears to have found a starting quarterback. Sophomore Anthony Jennings didn’t throw a touchdown, but completed 11 of 18 passes for 139 yards with an interception. Freshman Brandon Harris attempted only two passes, completing one for 14 yards.
