10-20-14: Donning their 1994 throwback uniforms, the Oregon Ducks rolled past Washington 45-20. Heisman hopeful Marcus Mariota threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns. Royce Freeman ran for 169 yards and four TDs. The Ducks piled up 554 yards of total offense. This is the 11th straight time the Ducks have beaten the Huskies. AP No. 6 Oregon plays Cal this week.
10-15-14: Oregon showed no effects from their shocking home loss to Arizona last week, jumping out to an early 21-3 lead over UCLA en route to a 42-30 victory. Marcus Mariota threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 75 yards and two scores. The Oregon defense was suspect as the Ducks allowed 553 total yards, including 328 on the ground. However, they forced UCLA into committing two turnovers. Oregon hosts Washington this weekend.
10-6-14: The Ducks started the week with their shocking 31-24 home loss to Arizona. It was a game where their mistakes were costly. Quarterback Marcus Mariota lost two fumbles, including one in the final minutes on a potential game-tying drive. Oregon committed 10 penalties in the game, with one involving defensive lineman Tony Washington getting flagged for bowing after a sack. It came with Arizona driving, and the penalty extended the Wildcats' winning drive. Oregon travels to UCLA this week.
10-1-14: The week off gave Oregon time to rest up their thin offensive line, which is banged up considerably. Oregon does lead the nation in yards per play, gaining 8.14 yards each time they snap the ball. 9-22-14: The Ducks were challenged by Washington State this week, but found a way to hold off the Cougars for the 38-31 victory. Oregon trailed at the end of the first quarter, and the game was tied at 21 at halftime. Marcus Mariota was getting terrorized all night by WSU's defensive front. He was sacked seven times and only attempted 10 passes in the first half before catching fire. The Heisman frontrunner finished with 329 passing yards and five touchdowns. Oregon has a bye this week.
9-15-14: Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota didn't let a letdown happen after beating Michigan State a week earlier, leading the Ducks on six consecutive scoring drives as Oregon beat Wyoming 48-14 Saturday. Mariota became the fourth Oregon quarterback to pass for more than 7,000 yards in his career. He completed 19 of 23 passes with two touchdowns. Mariota rushed five times for 71 yards, including touchdown runs of 15 and 19 yards. Mariota has now thrown a school-record 71 touchdowns. He has thrown at least one TD thrown in all 29 games he's appeared in. They’re impressive numbers to say the least. The Ducks will travel to Washington State this week.
9-9-14: Down nine points early in the second half, Oregon exploded with four touchdowns to run away from Michigan State 46-27 in a game that had major College Football Playoff implications. The Ducks got 360 yards of total offense from quarterback Marcus Mariota. He threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns. Oregon finished with 491 yards total. With his performance this past weekend, Mariota is the leader for the Heisman Trophy. The Ducks plays host to Wyoming this weekend.
9-4-14: Oregon's season opener against FCS South Dakota was never in doubt, as QB Marcus Mariota used his first-half appearance to set the school record for total touchdowns. The Ducks' running back corps showed its stuff in their 62-13 victory. The Heisman hopeful Mariota threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns. He alos added a TD run and 43 yards on the ground. He now has 81 total touchdowns for his career, which breaks the previous record of 77 held by Joey Harrington. The only blemish in the game was an ankle injury suffered by senior cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu. Having Ekpre-Olomu healthy is essential as the Ducks host AP No. 7 Michigan State this weekend.
