The Dallas Cowboys have been referred to as “America's Team” on more than one occasion in the team’s history. They came into the league in 1960 as an expansion team and wasted no time showing that they were the most popular, setting an NFL record with 160 consecutive sellouts, including 79 straight at home and 81 straight on the road with admission of Dallas Cowboys tickets. The Cowboys have been helped by their countrywide fan base and millions of Dallas Cowboys tickets sold to be ranked by Forbes magazine as the highest valued sports franchise in the United States with a value of $1.65 billion. The Cowboys history is one of the longest and most interesting in the NFL. They have had some of the best players in history play for them and help sell Dallas Cowboys tickets. On the list of former players and current Hall of Famers are; Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, and legendary coach Tom Landry. These players, along with others, have helped lead the Cowboys to a NFL record 8 Super Bowls, a record they share with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Cowboys are headed by outspoken owner Jerry Jones, who took control of the team in 1989 and promptly fired legendary head coach Tom Landry. In Jones’s first year as owner of the Cowboys he drafted quarterback Troy Aikman, who lead them to a franchise worst record 1-15. The fate of the team changed the next few years as they used draft picks to draft future starters that helped the team win Super Bowls and sell millions of Dallas Cowboys tickets.

Cowboys Stadium is the home of the Dallas Cowboys, selling an NFL best 718,055 Dallas Cowboys tickets in its opening year of 2009. The construction of Cowboys Stadium was a requirement for the Cowboys franchise as they are the most popular team in the NFL have lead the league in attendance year after year. The stadium has space for 110,000 Dallas Cowboys tickets to be sold on any given Sunday. Cowboys Stadium is also home to the world’s largest high definition video screen that is 2,100 inches, larger than the basketball court used during the 2010 NBA All-Star Game held in Cowboys stadium. Because of its enormous seating capacity and state of the art condition, the stadium has been, and will continue to be used for things other than selling Dallas Cowboys tickets, which include; concerts, college football bowl games, and college basketball games. Other NFL teams have experienced difficulty selling tickets due to rising costs and the experience that high-definition television provides fans. Fortunately, the Cowboys have not suffered from this, selling 85,512 Dallas Cowboys tickets on average in 2011, technically selling out every game. As previously mentioned, the Cowboys are one of the most popular teams in the country, if not the most popular, as fans across the country routinely buy tickets for their hometown team just to go and watch the visiting Cowboys.

12-4-12: After a bad loss at home to the Redskins, the Cowboys bounced back and beat the Eagles in a high-scoring 38-33 affair. At 6-6 the Cowboys are a longshot to make the playoffs and with only one divisional game left they can’t do much other than to win out their games and pray for outside help. Their next game is against the Bengals who are also fighting for a playoff spot themselves so beating them at home won’t be an easy task.

1/3/13: After losing to the Redskins in Washington 28-18 in the season's final week, the Cowboys finished at 8-8, missing the playoffs for the third straight season.
