Perhaps best known as being the drummer for The Beatles during their peak years in the mid-to-late
1960s, Ringo Starr has since gone on to front an enormously successful solo career. Following the
departure of original drummer Pete Best in 1962, Starr was asked to join The Beatles and remained the
group’s permanent drummer through its breakup in 1970. While his days in The Beatles have long since
passed, he still performs many of the group’s hits during his live show. Ring Starr tickets have
perpetually been in demand and the singer and former drummer owes much of his success to his
countercultural movement with The Beatles in the 60s. After The Beatles dissipated in 1970, Starr
recorded two studio albums the same year. His debut solo effort, Sentimental Journey, received fair
reviews but his stardom in The Beatles was all that was needed for it to chart and find commercial
success. Since his dual-album year in 1970, Starr has gone on to record 15 more studio albums as a solo
artist, though not all have been commercially successful. He experienced a tumultuous time in the late
70s after his disco-inspired album Ringo the 4th received incredibly poor reviews in 1977 and his follow-
up album Bad Boy garnered disastrous selling numbers. Starr’s rough period of poor album sales never
stopped him from recording and touring, however, and he still finds prominence when Ringo Starr
tickets become available for subsequent tours. His latest album, Ringo 2012, was released in 2012 and
the singer continues to tour the album across the world.
