Heinz Field is located at 100 Art Rooney Avenue in the North Shore neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15212.
The Stadium initially had a capacity of over 64,000 seats, but since have expanded to 65,500 seats with plans to add an additional 4,000 seats in time for the 2015 season.
Heinz Field first opened in August of 2001 with the first event taking place there was an N Sync concert. The completion of stadium took two years at a construction cost of $281 million.
Heinz Field is the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Pittsburgh Panthers.
From The Airport
Merge onto I-376 E toward Pittsburgh/Turnpike East/I-79. I-376 East becomes I-279 North. Continue on I-279 and take exit 1B on the left toward North Shore. Turn slight left onto Reedsdale Street. Left onto Allegheny Avenue, which becomes North Shore Drive • Follow North Shore Drive, which circles Heinz Field.
From 279 Parkway North
Follow I-279 South to the North Shore Exit (Heinz Field/PNC Park). Follow Reedsdale to the second traffic light and make left onto Allegheny Avenue and follow North Shore Drive, which circles Heinz Field.
Take the Monroeville Exit- head toward Pittsburgh. You will be on I-376. Follow I-376 to North Shore ramp/Fort Duquesne Bridge (Exit 70C). Keep left on Fort Duquesne Bridge to Heinz Field/North Shore exit.
There are over 20,000 parking spaces available downtown in various lots downtown by Heinz Field. Some lots around the venue are pre-order where guests can reserve their parking space prior to arriving at the stadium. Most lots are only $5 on game day and open two hours prior to the event.
Gate locations and Openings
Heinz Field offers seven entrances for football gamedays. These gates are Peoples Gate A, Gate B, Gate C, FedEx Great Hall center and south gates (Express), Gate 5 (Express) and Southwest Rotunda (Express). Express entrances are for guests arriving without bags or purses. All gates open for guest entry two hours prior to kick-off and are ADA accessible. Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
While Heinz Field encourages people not to bring any bags, bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC that do not exceed 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches are allowed into the stadium. Small clutch bags the size of an adult hand or 4.5 inches x 6.5 inches with or without a handle or strap may be brought. Non-appproved bags include all purses larger than 4.5 inches x 6.5 inches, fannypacks, computer bags, camera bags, seat cushion with back, mesh bag, diaper bag, backpacks, and oversized tote bag.
