As of the 2014 college football season, Ohio Stadium has a capacity of 104,944. [In 2013, renovations to add more seats over the venue's entrance tunnels created an additional 2,500 seats.]

History

Ground first broke on August 3, 1921 and Ohio Stadium officially opened on October 7, 1922. Considerable renovation was done between 2000 and 2001, adding more than 10,000 new seats alongside new scoreboards and press boxes.

Directions

If driving by car from either the North or the South to reach Ohio Stadium, I-71 will be the primary road used. If driving from the East or the West, I-70 will be the primary road used.

From the North

Take I-71 South to I-270 West. Travel to SR 315 South and exit on Lane Avenue and turn left. Turn right on to Fyeffe Road and left on Woody Hayes Drive. Once you cross the bridge, Ohio Stadium will be on your right.

From the South

Take I-71 North to SR 315 North traveling to Worthington. Exit on Lane Avenue and turn right. Turn right on to Fyeffe Road and left on Woody Hayes Drive. Once you cross the bridge, Ohio Stadium will be on your right.

From the East (Airport Route)

Take I-70 West to SR 315 North traveling to Worthington. Exit on Lane Avenue and turn right. Turn right on to Fyeffe Road and left on Woody Hayes Drive. Once you cross the bridge, Ohio Stadium will be on your right.

From the West

Take I-70 East to SR 315 North traveling to Worthington. Exit on Lane Avenue and turn right. Turn right on to Fyeffe Road and left on Woody Hayes Drive. Once you cross the bridge, Ohio Stadium will be on your right.

Gate Locations and Openings

All entrance gates open two hours prior to game day kickoff. Members of the Ohio State Marching Band's Skull Session will be allowed to enter through the St. John Arena doors four hours prior to game day kickoff.

Bags

In accordance with Ohio Stadium policy, all backpacks and bags should be smaller than 14 inches x 14 inches x 14 inches. Cell phones, cameras with lenses smaller than 100m, rain apparel, seat cushions, and small radios are also allowed. Coolers, thermoses and other containers are prohibited. Umbrellas are allowed into the venue but should not be opened while seated.
