The metalcore band group first formed in with a three man core in 1998 with singer Trevor Phillips, guitarists Buz McGrath and Ken Susi. Shortly thereafter, they were joined by bassist John “Slo” Maggard and drummer Nick Pierce is the latest addition with the band in what many consider to be the most potent line up all for the Unearth band.
Since forming in 1998, Unearth have released five studio albums with their latest release in July of 2011 for their fifth studio album “Darkness in the Light” which peaked at number 72 in the billboard charts and debuted at number 45 in the Canadian albums chart.
Unearth plans to release a new album titled “Watchers of Rule” which is slated to be released later this year, however there is still no release date.
Over the years, Unearth has combined the elements of hardcore, thrash, and extreme metal, while also not overlooking the significance of thought-provoking lyrical ideas and concepts and also coming out with constant stream of metal classics, such as their 2001 debut album “The Stings of Conscience.
Unearth have become the hardest and most consistent touring bands of all hard rock, they have performed in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, South America, Mexico, Japan, Europe, Netherlands, and in Russia which was their first ever headlining trip in Russia.
