One of contemporary country music’s biggest male stars, Blake Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1976 and after picking up the guitar aged twelve, moved to Nashville to pursue a music career just two weeks after his high school graduation. In 2001, his debut single, “Austin,” still his biggest Billboard Hot 100 hit to date, immediately put him on the map and was followed by a cover of George Jones’ “Ol’ Red” and his 2002 self-titled first album. Blake Shelton tickets became more in demand following the success of 2003’s mainstream breakthrough, The Dreamer, which also spawned the second of an eventual 11 Hot Country Songs number ones, “The Baby,” whilst 2004’s Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill and prominence in TV movie, The Christmas Blessing, helped to consolidate his crossover appeal. In 2007, he juggled the recording of fourth studio effort, Pure BS, with commitments on talent shows Nashville Star and Clash Of The Choirs, with a repackaged edition of the album later producing a chart-topping cover version of Michael Buble’s “Home.” In 2009, Blake Shelton tickets sold out instantly for a joint tour with future wife Miranda Lambert, whilst fifth LP, Storm & Fires, was followed up with the Hillbilly Bone and All About Tonight E.P.s, the former of which featured a hit duet with Trace Adkins, the artist who later inducted him into the Grand Ole Opry. In 2011, he provided the theme tune to the remake of 80s classic, Footloose, and secured his most high-profile gig as a mentor on NBC’s The Voice, where he guided Dia Franklin to a runner-up spot in the first season and then Jermaine Paul to victory in the second. Grammy-nominated Red River Blue then became his first album to take pole position on the Billboard Top 200, leading to a Male Vocalist of the Year gong at the Academy of Country Music Awards. In 2012, he performed “America The Beautiful” alongside Lambert at the Super Bowl XLVI, collaborated with fellow The Voice mentor Christina Aguilera on “Just A Fool” and released Blake Shelton tickets for a 27-city arena tour named Well Lit & Amplified, before returning to the studio for his first ever festive record, Cheers, It’s Christmas.
