About Carrie Underwood Tickets on TicketIQ.com
Second only to Kelly Clarkson as the most successful contestant to emerge from American Idol, Carrie Underwood has been instrumental in introducing country music to a new generation. Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1983, she grew up on her parents’ farm and began singing at her local church before she landed and then lost a deal with Capitol Records aged just 14.
Initially abandoning her ambitions of becoming a singer, she then studied for a degree in mass communication, during which she decided to audition for the 2005 fourth series of American Idol. Simon Cowell’s favourite from the start, she went onto perform alongside Rascal Flatts in the final where she comfortably beat runner-up Bo Bice. Released in the same year, her chart-topping debut album, Some Hearts, achieved the biggest first-week sales in Billboard history and spawned the number one single, “Inside Your Heaven” as well as helping to her win Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance at the 2007 Grammy Awards, the latter category of which she would also claim in 2008 and 2009.
Carrie Underwood tickets for her first tour, which focused mainly on state fairs and festivals, were quickly snapped up but it was in 2008 where she established herself as a live act, first with her joint Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Carnival Ride tour with Keith Urban and secondly, with her own Carnival Ride arena headline tour to promote her second album of the same name. Following the success of her 2009 third number one LP, Play On, she was invited by Michael Jackson’s family to appear on stage at his Grammy Awards tribute, was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry by Garth Brooks and won Entertainer Of The Year at the CMA Awards, before selling over one million Carrie Underwood tickets for her 2010 tour.
Venturing into film and TV, she hosted a two-hour Fox variety Christmas special, appeared in How I Met Your Mother and big-screen drama Soul Surfer and won a Golden Globe for her contribution to The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader soundtrack. She then scored a record 16th Top 10 country hit with the title track from her fourth studio effort, Blown Away, and allowed her Australian and British fans to get their hands on Carrie Underwood tickets as she ventured outside North America for the first time with her 2012/2013 world tour.
