Casting Crowns Biography
Formed as a student worship band, Florida pop-rock collective Casting Crowns went onto claim the
title of America’s biggest contemporary Christian act with a string of million-selling albums which
appealed to believers and non-believers alike. The core line-up of frontman Mark Hall, guitarists
Juan DeVevo and Hector Cervantes, violinist Melodee DeVevo, bassist Chris Huffman, keyboardist
Megan Garrett and drummer Andy Williams settled in 2001 when the group relocated to
Stockbridge, Georgia, and began releasing Casting Crowns tickets for various shows across the state.
After independently issuing their eponymous debut and sophomore, What If The Whole World
Prayed, the group caught the attention of Sawyer Brown’s Mark Miller, who promptly made them
the first signing to his Beach Street Records imprint. Casting Crowns tickets became much more in
demand in 2003 when the group achieved the fastest-selling debut in Christian music history with
their second self-titled effort. In 2005, the group scored their first US Top 10 entry on the Billboard
200 with Lifesong, which picked up a Grammy for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album a year
later, and released Casting Crowns tickets for a major national tour. In 2007, the band reached
number two with The Altar and The Door, spent a record-breaking 19 weeks at the top of the Hot
Christian Songs chart with “East To West,” and grossed over $4.4 million in sales of Casting Crowns
tickets for a tour with Leeland and John Waller. After venturing into the festive market for 2008’s
Peace on Earth, the band scored the highest ever first-week sales for a Christian album with 2009’s
Until The Whole World Hears, while fans snapped up Casting Crowns tickets for an accompanying
tour featuring Kutless, Tenth Avenue North and Matt Redman. Recorded in front of fans with Casting
Crowns tickets at North Carolina’s Greensboro Coliseum, their 2010 live album was followed by
2011’s Come To The Well. After recording the theme to Christian film Courageous, the band added
to their discography with 2013’s The Acoustic Sessions, Vol. 1, before celebrating the holiday season
once again with the release of Casting Crowns tickets for The Story Tour. In 2014, the group scored
their fifth consecutive US Top 10 album with Thrive, and released Casting Crowns tickets for a North
