History of the Electric Daisy Carnival
Neon bikinis, twirling fire dancers, and 100-foot mechanical owls can only mean one thing: Electric Daisy Carnival is in town. Started from humble beginnings as a one-day dance music event in Los Angeles in 1997, EDC has grown into the world's largest dance music event - currently encompassing six festival editions in Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, London, Mexico City, and Puerto Rico, making Electric Daisy Carnival tickets amongst the most in-demand in the world. And as the popularity of dance music continues to explode, with dance artists regularly topping the charts once dominated by rock acts, Electric Daisy Carnival tickets will continue to grow in demand. The first Electric Daisy Carnival tickets were released in 1997 for the Los Angeles event held at Shrine Expo Hall, with the festival being held in various Southern California venues throughout the early years including festival locations in San Bernardino, Long Beach, and Barstow. In 2001, Electric Daisy Carnival tickets became available outside of California for the first time, with the festival expanding to Austin, Texas in 2001 and 2002. With the Southern California events continuing to be held until 2010, additional festivals were also added in Colorado in 2008, Puerto Rico in 2009, and Dallas in 2010. Yet it was 2011 that saw the biggest expansion of the festival to date, with Electric Daisy Carnival tickets being released for major new editions in Las Vegas and Orlando. And the festival continues to grow to this date, adding New York City in 2012, London and Chicago in 2013, and Mexico City in 2014. Electric Daisy Carnival tickets have been released for the first-ever Mexico City event, taking place March 15-16 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, a 1,000-acre racetrack with a capacity of 100,000 people located on the outskirts of the capital. Festival headliners include Avicii, Steve Angello, Axwell, Kaskade, John Digweed, Boys Noize, Zeds Dead, Baauer, Bingo Players, Bloody Beetroots, Flux Pavilion, A-Trak, and Krewella, with additional performers including Clockwork, Dj Snake, Araabmuzik, Showtek, Cajmere, LocoDice and more. Know for bombastic pyrotechnics, freaky neon visuals, pulsating light shows, and all sorts of oddball theatrical performances including stilt walkers and fire breathers, Electric Daisy Carnival tickets offer as much visual stimulation as they do audio sensations. EDC is well known for placing an emphasis on fan experience to create one-of-a-kind, Burning Man-style all-encompassing events that continue to keep fans guessing what will happen next. And after Mexico City, next up in 2014 will be Electric Daisy Carnival New York, taking place May 24-25 at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (home of the New York Giants, Jets, and Super Bowl 48.) Headliners for the New York event include Tiesto, Steve Angello, Bassnectar, Calvin Harris, Afrojack, Hardwell, John Digweed, Boys Noize, and Sander Van Doorn, with additional performers including Adventure Club, Art Department, Carl Cox & Friends, Cedric Gervais, Tommy Trash, Krewella, Green Velvet, Claude VonStroke, Skream, MK, Araabmuzik, 2manydjs, and more. All of this leads up to the main event: Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, taking place from June 20-22 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Although the lineup has not yet been announced, all Electric Daisy Carnival tickets for the Las Vegas event have already sold out in record time, with 133,000 tickets being sold per day and 400,000 fans expected over the festival's three days. Additional Electric Daisy Carnival tickets will be released for the London, Puerto Rico, and Orlando festivals at a future date to be announced.
