Garth Brooks isn’t just one of the biggest country stars in the world, he’s become one of the world’s biggest entertainers of any sort. Since his debut album in 1989 reach No. 2 on the US charts, tickets have been some of the most sought after show tickets in the world. Throughout the peak of Brooks’ career in the 90’s, both album sales and sales of tickets for concerts broke multiple records. Brooks has ten different albums that have been certified diamond by the RIAA, an achievement reached when 10 million units are sold.

Brooks released nine albums from 1989-2001 and tickets for each of the supporting tours easily sold out during that period. One of Brooks’ biggest tours came in the UK in support of his 1993 album In Pieces that featured enough Garth Brooks tickets sold to sell out the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham and Wembley Stadium in London. Over the next few years his popularity in the UK was always enough for the demand of Garth Brooks tickets to sell out the biggest venues overseas.

In 2000, after selling over millions of Garth Brooks tickets for concerts worldwide, Brooks announced he would retire from touring. The retirement lasted until 2005 when Brooks performed at events with the proceeds of tickets benefiting causes such as Hurricane Katrina relief. He would stay in retirement from touring, even as he released a greatest hits collection with three new songs, until November of 2007 when he played some of the first shows at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. He was originally supposed to play one show, but the demand for Garth Brooks tickets was so overwhelming it became a nine sold out shows.

After another two years of rare concerts, in 2009 Brooks announced he would be playing weekend shows at Encore Las Vegas as a residency deal until 2012. Garth Brooks tickets in Las Vegas immediately went into high demand and Brooks had one of the most popular shows on the Las Vegas Strip.

After the residency in Vegas ended, Brooks continued to play charitable shows, but did not announce another full tour until December 2013 when he announced a world tour scheduled for 2014. For the start of the tour, Brooks announced two dates in Ireland at the end of July and within 20 minutes of being on sale, Garth Brooks tickets sold out for both shows. The run was expanded to five shows total, which are also all sold out and have amounted to just under $30 million in ticket sales for these shows alone. More dates have not been announced for the 2014 world tour yet, but once the dates are announced and tickets go on sale, expect Garth Brooks tickets to sell out almost immediately.

It’s been awhile since Brooks has been at his peak as one of the world’s most popular performers, but early returns on ticket demand have shown the desire for his legendary concerts has not died down.
