Five-time Grammy Award winner James Taylor revolutionised the singer-songwriter genre in the early 70s with a combination of gentle folk pop, soul-searching lyrics and irresistibly sweet harmonies. Born in Boston in 1948, Taylor first studied the cello before switching his attention to the guitar, and after teaming up with friend Danny Kortchmar, began performing at various local coffeehouses under the guise of Jamie & Kootch. A stint in his brother’s band, The Corsayers, then followed, as did a life-saving spell at a psychiatric hospital which inspired him to move to New York. James Taylor tickets subsequently became regularly available on the Greenwich Village folk scene as he began playing with the band, The Flying Machine. But further personal problems sparked another move in 1968 when he relocated to London and became the first non-British act to sign to Apple Records. Labelmates Paul McCartney and George Harrison appeared on his self-titled debut album in the same year, before he returned to his homeland to release James Taylor tickets for a six-night stand at Los Angeles’ The Troubadour. In 1970, Taylor started an enduring partnership with Carole King on Sweet Baby James, which produced his first hit single, “Fire and Rain.” The demand for James Taylor tickets increased in 1971 when Mud Slide Slim & The Blue Horizon spawned the Grammy-winning chart-topping single, “You’ve Got A Friend,” which was quickly followed up in 1972 by the concept album, One Man Dog. In the same year, he played to thousands of fans with James Taylor tickets at New York’s Radio City Hall just hours after marrying Carly Simon. After adding to his discography with Walking Man, Gorilla and the star-studded In The Pocket, he released a diamond-selling Greatest Hits collection, the return-to-form JT, and James Taylor tickets for a No Nukes gig at Madison Square Garden. Taylor’s recording output slowed down throughout the 80s, but James Taylor tickets continued to sell in their droves as he focused his energies on touring instead. After returning to the studio for the likes of That’s Why I’m Here, Never Die Young and New Moon Shine, he recorded his first US live album, Live, in front of fans with James Taylor tickets at 14 different shows. In 1997, he scored his first US Top 10 album in 16 years with Hourglass, and after following it up in 2002 with October Road, released James Taylor tickets for shows in various swing states as part of the Vote for Change tour. A second live album, One Man Band, arrived in 2007, and following 2008’s Covers, over 700,000 Carole King and James Taylor tickets were snapped up for their 2010 Troubadour Reunion Tour.
