British vocalist Sam Smith started his career guesting on a number of dance anthems before becoming a star in his own right with a mix of timeless soul and confessional tales of unrequited love. Born in Cambridgeshire in 1992, Smith grew up listening to various divas like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Chaka Khan, all of whom inspired him to sing in his own right.

Smith went on to study under the tutelage of jazz singer Joanna Eden for several years and first began performing as a member of the Bishop's Stortford Junior Operatics and the Cantate Youth Choir. His impressive vocal talents subsequently attracted the attention of several managers, but went through a half-dozen before the age of 18.

Disillusioned with plans to turn him into the British Michael Buble, Smith then moved to London where he worked in a bar for two years before meeting producer Jimmy Napier, who introduced him to dance duo Disclosure. Smith’s striking falsetto was used to full effect on the pair’s 2012 breakthrough single, “Latch,” and the demand for Sam Smith tickets grew further when he guested on Naughty Boy’s smash UK hit, “La La La,” and supported Emeli Sande on her UK tour.

He would emabrk on his first major headline show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and again teamed up with Disclosure and Chic’s Nile Rodgers on the all-star collaboration, “Together,” receiving rave reviews for his first E.P., Nirvana. Sam Smith tickets became even hotter property at the start of 2014 when he was announced as the winner of both BBC’s prestigious annual Sound of… poll, and the BRITs Critics Choice Award.

Shortly after, he reached the No. 1 spot for a second time with the solo single, “Money On My Mind,” and following a US TV debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, revealed tour dates on both sides of the Atlantic.

Later that year, he scored a third UK chart-topper with “Stay With Me,” and reached the same position on the album charts with In The Lonely Hour, a collection of confessional soul ballads which drew comparisons with everyone from Boy George to Adele.

Sam Smith tickets were then snapped up in droves following his powerhouse performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, and after co-writing a number of tracks on Mary J. Blige’s The London Sessions, he announced plans for his first arena tour.
