Skrillex Tickets & Tour News

4-3-14: Skrillex shows his admiration for George Lucas and the Star Wars films with the release of his new video for “Ragga Bomb” with the Ragga Twins off of his first full length “Recess” album. The video features a post apocalyptic earth in which two rival factions eventually square off with a lightsaber duel.

3-26-14: The full lineup for Lollapalooza has been announced as of March 26th. Skrillex will headline the event alongside Outkast, Arctic Monkeys, the Kings Of Leon, and Eminem. Other acts announced include Krewella, Foster The People, Calvin Harris, Lorde, Nas, Zedd, Spoon, Interpol, The Head and The Heart, Cage The Elephant, and more from August 1st through 3rd.

3-24-14: Skrillex is earning praise for his newest album, “Recess”. Many are citing the albums ability to expand beyond dub step and including elements of reggae, funk, pop, and indie rock as a positive turn for both EDM and for Skrillex himself. Skrillex is set to co-headline a number of festivals this summer as well as embark on a tour of his own.

3-19-14: Despite producing for nearly half a decade, Skrillex just released his first full length album, “Recess” on Big Beat records on March 14th. The dubstep and EDM icon released each new song in thirty minutes intervals via an app entitled “Alien Ride”. Skrillex Biography

Formerly the frontman of post-hardcore outfit From First To Last, Sonny Moore then achieved multiple Grammy-winning success when he reinvented himself as dubstep maestro Skrillex. Born in Highland Park, Los Angeles in 1988, Moore’s musical versatility was shaped by the punk gigs and electro raves he attended as a teen. In 2004, he joined From First To Last as lead vocalist and recorded two albums, Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count, and US Top 30 sophomore, Heroine, with the Florida band before major vocal problems and a desire to pursue a solo career led to his resignation in 2007. Wasting little time, Moore assembled a new backing band in the same year and went onto tour with Team Sleep, Hollywood Undead and Chiodos, while also teasing his new electronic direction on 2009 E.P., Gypsyhook. But it was the Skrillex alter-ego that he debuted in 2008 with various DJ sets that began to take precedence and in 2010, he became a fully-fledged recording artist under that name with My Name is Skrillex, a six-track E.P. which introduced the mainstream to his fratboy-friendly blend of robotic beats, sinister basslines and Transformers-inspired sound effects. After signing to Deadmau5’s mau5trap label, Skrillex cemented his status as the dubstep scene’s new poster boy with the Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites E.P., which would later pick up two Grammy Awards, a North American tour dubbed Project Blue Book and the creation of his own OWSLA label. A prolific collaborator, Skrillex also contributed to records by the likes of Korn, Kaskade and Knife Party, worked with the surviving members of The Doors on 2011’s Bangarang E.P., and joined forces with Boys Noize for various tracks under the guise of Dog Blood. Skrillex was then turned into a video game character for the animated hit Wreck-It-Ralph, guested on singles by Damian Marley and Alvin Risk, and released 2013’s Leaving E.P. before premiering his full-length debut album, Recess, via an app named Alien Ride. Featuring the likes of Niki & The Dove, Chance the Rapper and Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos, the star-studded affair gave Skrillex his highest US chart peak, reaching number four on the Billboard 200 in early 2014. Having first teamed up at the 2013 Mad Decent Block Party, Skrillex and fellow super producer Diplo then worked together on an entire LP two years later as Jack Ü, scoring a US Top 30 hit with the Justin Bieber-fronted “Where Are Ü Now?”
