A Few Good Reasons to Buy The Offspring Tickets on TicketIQ.com

Alongside fellow Californian bands Green Day, Rancid and NOFX, The Offspring were widely credited with pushing punk rock back into the mainstream during the 1990s. Formed in Huntington Beach in 1984, lead vocalist Dexter Holland, guitarist Kevin ‘Noodles’ Wasserman, bassist Greg K. and drummer Ron Welty first began performing under the guise of Manic Subsidal before changing their name to The Offspring with the release of their first single, “I’ll Be Waiting,” two years later. After building up their fanbase with 1989’s eponymous debut and 1992 follow-up Ignition, the band hit it big in 1994 when the singles “Self Esteem” and “Come Out and Play” helped to propel parent album Smash to No.4 on the Billboard 200 and to sales of 16 million copies. Following an appearance on the Batman Forever soundtrack, the group faced sell-out accusations when they left Epitaph to join major label Columbia, and although 1997’s Ixnay on the Hombre failed to shift as many copies as its predecessor, the move eventually paid off with 1998’s Americana. Spawning the group’s first US Hot 100 entry, “Pretty Fly For A White Guy,” the record also reached number two in the US and introduced their anthemic punk-pop sound to a wider international audience. The Offspring then got everyone talking again when they announced plans to release 2000’s Conspiracy of One entirely free of charge online, a move swiftly nixed by their label, before adding to their tally of hits with “Original Prankster.” Following 2003’s Splinter, Welty left to join Steady Ground and was replaced by Atom Willard, and later Pete Parada, while 2005’s Greatest Hits was supported by the band’s first appearance on the annual Warped Tour. In 2008, the group returned to the US Top 10 with eighth LP, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, and went onto tour with Omaha rockers 311 before joining forces with producer Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Metallica) for a second time on 2012’s Days Go By. In 2014, the band hit the road with former labelmates Bad Religion and Pennywise for a trek celebrating the 20th anniversary of their biggest-selling record, Smash, and a year later embarked on a worldwide tour named after the first single from their tenth album, “Coming For You”.
