12-1-14: Jake Rudock had 230 yards and two touchdown passes for Iowa in a 37-34 loss in overtime. Mark Weisman had 82 yards rushing for Iowa. The Hawkeyes closed the regular season with back to back home losses. They will head to its bowl game without a single win over an FBS team above .500.

11-24-14: Jake Rudock had 311 yards passing and two touchdowns for the Hawkeyes, who rallied from 16 points down to get to 26-24 with just more than 5 minutes left. Unfortunately, Iowa couldn’t pull off the victory against Wisconsin. Iowa actually outgained Wisconsin 412 to 405 for the game. Kirk Ferentz’s team plays Nebraska this week.

11-10-14:The Hawkeyes traveled to Minnesota Saturday and were absolutely smacked by the Gophers 51- 14. Everything started out well for Iowa as they opened the game with a short touchdown run by Mark Weisman. After that, they just rolled over. Weisman managed only 21 yards on 14 carries on the day. Kirk Ferentz’s team will play travel to Illinois this week to take on the Fightin’ Illini.

11-3-14: Mark Weisman and Akrum Wadley combined for 200 yards rushing and four touchdowns, as Iowa beat Northwestern 48-7 Saturday. Iowa's defense was too much for Northwestern, which had won six of the previous nine games between these two teams. The Hawkeyes recorded five sacks in total. They travel to Minnesota this week.

10-27-14: The Hawkeyes has a bye this week after their 38-31 loss to Maryland. The big news coming out of Iowa City on the bye week was sophomore linebacker Reggie Spearman has been suspended indefinitely. Spearman was cited early Saturday morning for an alcohol related offense. Spearman has started all seven games for Iowa's defense this and has 34 tackles and one sack. Iowa hosts Northwestern this week.

10-20-14: Quarterback Jake Rudock was 32 for 56 for 317 yards and two touchdowns, but Iowa fell to Maryland 38-31. Mark Weisman ran for 78 yards and two touchdowns. The Hawkeyes gave up four sacks, and yielded 212 yards rushing. They were called for seven penalties totaling 65 yards. Iowa had only 52 total yards in the second quarter. They have a bye this week.

10-15-14: QB Jake Rudock threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns and Iowa rolled past Indiana 45-29 on Saturday for its third straight victory. Iowa scored 28 points in the first quarter, which surpassed their total in each of its first four games against Power 5 schools. The Hawkeyes are now tied with atop the Big Ten with Minnesota. They will travel to College Park to take on Maryland this weekend.

10-6-14: The Hawkeyes had a bye this week as they prepare for Indiana this week. Iowa will feature a two quarterback system as junior Jake Rudock and sophomore C.J. Beathard will both play against the Hoosiers. Rudock missed last Saturday's win over Purdue after hurting his hip in a win over Pittsburgh. With Rudock out, Beathard was 17 of 37 pass at for 245 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

10-1-14: Iowa gave Purdue an early 10-0 lead Saturday, then dominated the final 49 minutes, rallying for a 24-10 conference opening victory. Iowa finished the game with 420 yards of total offense, with 404 during the final three quarters. The Hawkeye defense limited Purdue to 74 yards in the first quarter and just 156 yards total. C.J. Beathard was just 17 of 37 for 245 yards and one touchdown. Iowa has a bye this week.

9-22-14: The Iowa Hawkeyes squeezed out a 24-20 victory against non-conference Pitt over the weekend. C.J Beathard came in off the bench for quarterback Jake Rudock, who couldn’t go with an undisclosed injury. Beathard finished 7-for-8 for 98 yards in relief for the Hawkeyes, and running back Mark Weisman finished with 88 yards on 22 carries. They travel to Purdue this week and many will wonder who is going to start under center for Kirk Ferentz?

9-15-14: Oh man did this one hurt for Iowa as they fell to in-state rival Iowa State 20-17. ISU’s Cole Netten missed the game-winning field goal, but the referees whistles were muted as the Iowa State’s kicker attempt sailed wide left. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz called timeout to try and ice Netten. Ferentz gave him a practice kick and Netten nailed his second attempt to give the Cyclones the lead with two seconds remaining. It was a bad loss for an Iowa team that struggled to move the ball all day long. The Hawkeyes will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers this week.

9-9-14: The Hawkeyes were in for a scare this past Saturday versus Ball State. Ball State held a 13-3 lead with less than three minutes remaining in the game. Iowa quarterback Jake Rudock connected with freshman wide receiver Derrick Willies to close the gap to 13-10. After forcing Ball State to a three and out, Rudock led Iowa on a 59 yard drive, capped off by a Rudock to Jake Duzey 12 yard touchdown pass to give Iowa the 17-13 lead. The Hawkeyes will host in-state foe Iowa State this weekend.

9-4-14: It wasn’t all easy for the Hawkeyes last weekend. Iowa trailed in-state FCS opponent Northern Iowa for seven minutes in the second quarter, and the Hawkeyes never had more than an 11-point lead in a hard-fought 31-23 victory. Kirk Ferentz’s team avoided starting 0-1 for the second straight season. The Iowa defense was suspect as they were outgained 405-401 by the Panthers. Quarterback Jake Rudock threw for 250 passing yards and two touchdowns. Iowa will look to go 2-0 this weekend when they host Ball State.
