Sixx: A.M. Biography

Nikki Sixx has led a life unlike many others. The bassist of Motley Crue, which was arguably the biggest glam band of the 80s, has recorded hit records with both his original band and Sixx: A.M., his side project that features DJ Ashba and James Michael. While Sixx has had a hand in some of the 20th century’s biggest rock songs with Motley Crue, the musician’s excessive party habits eventually led to multiple heroin overdoses in the late 80’s, prompting Sixx to later pen The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star in 2007. The book received critical acclaim, which led to the eponymously named debut album by Sixx: A.M. that same year. After year of other commitments, the group embark on their first-ever headlining tour in 2015 , where Sixx A.M. tickets will undoubtedly be in high demand.

After four years of minor tour schedules due to Sixx’s involvement with Motley Crue, the band returned to the studio in 2010 to record their sophomore album, This Is Gonna Hurt, which was released in May of 2011. The album spawned the lead single “Lies Of The Beautiful People” and debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200, selling 30,000 copies in its first week. It received fairly unimpressive reviews by Rolling Stone and Allmusic, but led to another highly-anticipated string of tour dates that saw Sixx: A.M. tickets rise in demand. The group’s third and latest album, Modern Vintage, was released in October of 2014 and peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard 200. The lead single off of their 2014 release was “Gotta Get It Right”, which was released to the public on August 5. Their 2015 headlining tour will be their biggest excursion on the road yet, and Sixx: A.M. tickets will likely sell out on the primary market when they make their way across North America.
