Since 1975, the hit musical Chicago has dazzled audiences with its empowering story and fierce jazz numbers. It first premiered in 1975 at the 46th Street Theatre and ran until 1977. It was then revived to Broadway in 1996 and has since been a crowd favorite. It currently holds the record as the longest-running musical revival and the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. The winner of six Tony Awards, among many other awards since its revival in 1996, Chicago is a story of greed, murder, and showbiz that has astounded audiences for nearly 20 years. The famous line “Come paint the town red” comes from this musical which follows murderesses Roxie Hart, Velma Kelly, and their lawyer Billy Flynn. 8 times a week for nearly 20 years and in many different countries, Chicago has “painted the town red" at Ambassador Theatre on Broadway.
